Avengers: Doomsday Gets Early First Impressions From Insiders

There’s a lot of early talk about the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. Even though it’s still over ten months from release, people are starting to get a sense of how critics might react. The film has just finished its main filming stage, and additional shooting is planned later this year.

I’m already so hyped for Avengers: Doomsday! Even though it’s still over 300 days away, I’ve been following some reliable Marvel insiders, and they’re all saying this movie could be one of the best in the MCU so far. Just recently, Jeff Sneider, who’s been in the industry a long time, talked about it on his podcast, The Hot Mic, and it sounds amazing!

During an interview with John Rocha, Sneider shared that early reactions to the movie are positive, saying, “You’re going to like it.”

The movie is still being edited and finalized. I did a quick check before the event, and I have some initial information. ‘Avengers’ is currently in post-production with more filming still needed, but early reactions are very positive. People are excited about it, and I think you’ll really enjoy the film.

This is the first time fans are getting positive news about the upcoming Avengers movie before it comes out.

A popular online personality, MyTimetoShineHello, recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Avengers: Doomsday isn’t just the best Avengers film, but potentially one of the greatest movies ever made.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is the best ‘Avengers’ film yet, and could even be one of the greatest movies ever made. The movie starts with an incredible scene, and the final battle is absolutely mind-blowing.

Another industry source, John Campea, shared his thoughts during a live stream in January 2026, claiming the action scenes in Doomsday will be far better than anything Marvel has produced so far.

This project features so much action, both in terms of its length and overall scale, that it will surpass anything Marvel Studios has created so far.

According to Campea, the best openings in comic book movies are those of X-Men 2 and Batman vs Superman, but he believes the opening scene of Doomsday will be even better than those two.

In my opinion, the best openings in comic book movies are the White House attack in ‘X-Men 2’ and the scene of Bruce Wayne in Gotham during the battle between Superman and Zod in ‘Batman vs Superman.’ However, I believe the opening sequence for ‘Doomsday’ will be even more impressive. If it’s done well, it’s going to be absolutely mind-blowing.

The new movie, Avengers: Doomsday, arrives in theaters on December 18th. It will introduce Doctor Doom – a classic Marvel villain – to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, played by Robert Downey Jr. When Doctor Doom tries to take over the Multiverse, the Avengers must team up with superheroes from different realities to stop him.

Will Avengers: Doomsday Live Up to the Hype?

Although Avengers: Endgame remains the most anticipated movie ever, largely due to its decade-long build-up, Doomsday is quickly gaining similar levels of excitement.

This movie isn’t just another Avengers film—it’s a tribute to the entire history of Marvel movies. It brings together heroes from the modern Marvel Cinematic Universe with iconic characters from older comic book adaptations. Needless to say, the hype surrounding this film is enormous.

So, what would success for this movie even look like, both critically and financially?

Compared to other Avengers films, which have an average score of 86.25% on Rotten Tomatoes, Endgame is the highest-rated. It’s currently the second best-reviewed movie in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. To perform as well as Endgame, Doomsday will likely need to score in the high 80s or low 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.

While it might be a bit harder financially, Doomsday could still become a huge success. Endgame earned almost $2.8 billion worldwide, making it the second-highest-grossing movie ever. Doomsday has a long way to go to reach that level, but strong reviews and the potential for exciting crossovers could help it get closer.
