Netflix is still a leading streaming service, and its huge library of movies and TV shows is a major reason why. Beyond its popular original content, Netflix offers a wide variety of other titles – from undiscovered favorites and older films to timeless classics. This vast selection keeps viewers engaged and helps Netflix remain a major player in the entertainment world, even as other streaming services gain popularity.
Netflix is adding some fantastic movies in February 2026, building on its already extensive library. The full list of new releases is now available, and US viewers will find a great selection of films ready to stream. Several of these movies are considered modern classics, and they all share two things: high quality and recent availability on Netflix.
7) The Bucket List (2007)

Jack Nicholson is famous for playing bad guys, but in the 2007 film The Bucket List, he delivered a surprisingly heartfelt performance. The movie, directed by Rob Reiner, paired Nicholson with Morgan Freeman as two very different men determined to live life to the fullest as they come to terms with their own mortality. It’s a truly touching story about friendship and finding joy, made even better by the incredible acting of its lead stars.
6) Hell or High Water (2016)

Despite being considered by many as one of the best Westerns of recent years, Hell or High Water often goes unnoticed. The film features Chris Pine and Ben Foster as brothers who resort to bank robbery, and Jeff Bridges as the determined sheriff trying to stop them. This tense and realistic crime thriller boasts a fantastic cast and received multiple Academy Award nominations.
5) Crazy, Stupid, Love. (2011)

Released in 2011, Crazy, Stupid, Love. is a remarkably heartwarming romantic comedy that stands out from the typical films in its genre. The story focuses on the connection between smooth operator Jacob (Ryan Gosling) and newly divorced Cal (Steve Carell), and Jacob’s developing romance with Hannah (Emma Stone). The film skillfully blends drama, humor, and romance to create a consistently engaging and beloved movie that continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.
4) You’ve Got Mail (1998)

As a huge fan of romantic comedies, I have to say You’ve Got Mail is just perfect. It really defines the genre, you know? Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan have incredible chemistry playing these New York bookstore owners who, despite being rivals in business, clearly have a connection. It’s a sweet, funny, and totally charming story about finding love in the early days of the internet, and it still holds up as one of the best rom-coms ever made.
3) Ex Machina (2014)

Alex Garland’s Ex Machina is a sci-fi film that holds up incredibly well. The story centers on a programmer, played by Domhnall Gleeson, who’s asked by his CEO (Oscar Isaac) to evaluate a highly advanced robot with human-like intelligence, portrayed by Alicia Vikander. The film won an Academy Award for its visual effects and received several other nominations, earning a reputation as one of the best films of the 2010s. Its exploration of artificial intelligence and the moral questions it raises remain powerfully relevant, leading many to view Ex Machina as a perfect movie.
2) How to Train Your Dragon (2010)

Many fans still consider the first How to Train Your Dragon movie the best in the series, and it’s now available to stream on Netflix. The 2010 animated film tells the story of Hiccup, a young Viking who doesn’t quite fit in, and his unlikely friendship with a unique dragon named Toothless. With beautiful animation and a fantastic voice cast, How to Train Your Dragon remains a delightful watch even years after its original release.
1) Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)

It’s incredibly hard to pick Robin Williams’ best film, but Mrs. Doubtfire is definitely a top choice. In this 1993 comedy, Williams plays a dad who cleverly disguises himself as an older Scottish nanny so he can spend time with his kids after a divorce. It’s a role that perfectly suited Williams’ incredible talent and energy, making Mrs. Doubtfire a truly delightful and universally appealing movie.
