The X-Men are known as one of Marvel’s strongest superhero teams, largely thanks to their Omega-level mutants. These mutants possess incredible power, reaching levels that make them exceptionally formidable – capable of feats rivaling those of gods. Though the Omega classification wasn’t always used, the team originally included three of these powerful individuals (Jean Grey and Iceman were still developing their full abilities). This gave the X-Men a significant advantage, allowing them to take on even the most dangerous enemies. Many fan-favorite X-Men have since been identified as Omegas, strengthening the team’s ability to face major threats.
Omegas are now a significant element within the mutant world of Marvel, and the X-Men boast many of the most powerful. Throughout the team’s history, several Omegas have demonstrated incredible abilities, achieving legendary status. These X-Men all possess Omega-level powers, and their most impressive accomplishments showcase their true potential.
10) Forge

Forge is a unique individual with the ability to build anything he can envision. Remarkably, he doesn’t need to understand how something works to create it – he could, for instance, build a faster-than-light drive simply by having the necessary parts. He’s been instrumental in developing much of the X-Men’s technology, including Cerebro, but his most significant invention came from the ‘Ghost Boxes’ storyline. This device allowed him to travel between universes and observe alternate realities, a feat that, while often overlooked, remains incredibly impressive.
9) Professor X

Professor X remains one of the most powerful mutants on Earth, even though his role with the X-Men has evolved. He first gained fame as the world’s strongest telepath, performing incredible feats with his mind. But a particularly impressive, and often overlooked, achievement is his work with Krakoan resurrection. Professor X regularly downloaded the memories of every mutant he could reach, a massive undertaking he managed while still living his life and using his powers in other ways. This demonstrates the true extent of his abilities.
8) Iceman

Bobby Drake, known as Iceman, didn’t always seem destined to become one of the most powerful mutants. He began as the team’s comedic relief, but his abilities steadily grew, eventually requiring a special belt to limit his power while with X-Factor. A major turning point came when Emma Frost entered his mind, subconsciously helping him unlock his potential. Even after she left, his powers continued to expand, allowing him to create complex, living structures made of ice. But his most impressive accomplishment remains freezing the fires of Hell – a truly incredible feat that always highlights just how powerful he is.
7) Hope Summers

Hope Summers was a unique mutant, born after a significant event called M-Day. It was later revealed her father was actually Jean Grey, who traveled back in time to ensure Hope’s birth, using the Phoenix Force to conceive her. While Hope possesses many abilities, her most powerful is the ability to enhance the powers of others. She famously used this skill to make the mutant resurrection process on Krakoa possible, boosting the powers of the Five – Proteus, Egg, Tempus, and Elixir. Eventually, she even took on the task of transferring memories during resurrection, demonstrating her incredible ability to master powers that weren’t originally hers. Through this, she helped bring back millions of mutants in the White Hot Room.
6) Quentin Quire

Quentin Quire is an incredibly powerful telepath, considered one of the strongest mutants. From the moment he appeared in New X-Men, he’s consistently defeated much more powerful enemies and demonstrated amazing abilities. While transforming his body into pure psychic energy after the “Riot at Xavier’s” and reforming it multiple times is arguably his most impressive feat, another achievement often goes unnoticed: he has defeated Charles Xavier in psychic combat on several occasions. Very few people have ever managed to best Xavier in a mental duel, making this a significant accomplishment for Quire.
5) Storm

Storm is one of the most powerful and prominent members of the X-Men. For years, her ability to control the weather has been crucial in saving the team from countless threats. She’s also connected to a long line of powerful magic users, and many consider her a goddess due to her incredible abilities. While it’s hard to choose just one, a standout moment was when she used electromagnetic energy to help Magneto repair his heart and defeat Uranos. Her accomplishments in Resurrection of Magneto – defeating Tarn in a magical dimension and overcoming the Shadow King on the Astral Plane – are also particularly impressive (the story is fantastic, aside from the very ending).
4) Magneto

Magneto is a complex character in the X-Men universe, initially appearing as their primary enemy. As a powerful mutant with mastery over magnetism, he’s capable of incredible feats. Beyond simply controlling metal, he’s demonstrated truly world-altering abilities, like unleashing an electromagnetic pulse that disabled technology worldwide – even affecting heroes like Iron Man and the Fantastic Four. He’s even rebuilt his own heart using magnetic energy and can move the asteroid M into orbit at will. However, his most impressive achievement is arguably the terraforming of Mars. Magneto transported massive amounts of metal to the planet, increasing its mass and creating a magnetic field to support potential life. This showcases the full extent of his power and what he can accomplish when focused.
3) Legion

David Haller, known as Legion, is the son of Professor X and Gabrielle Haller, but he grew up without a relationship with his father. Had Professor X been present, David might have gained better control over his incredibly diverse and powerful abilities, potentially improving his mental well-being. Legion’s powers are limitless, allowing him to accomplish extraordinary feats. While not a consistent member of the X-Men, he has been part of the team and is considered a citizen of Krakoa. Two of his most impressive accomplishments include traveling back in time to eliminate Magneto and, during the Krakoa era, transforming his mind into a living temple for the Spark – a core belief for mutant life – allowing other mutants to enter and connect with it. This demonstrates the sheer scale and potential of his powers.
2) Elixir

Elixir was a member of the New X-Men team (the one led by Kyle and Yost), and he had a unique ability: his golden hand could heal, while his black hand could destroy. Over the years, he’s repeatedly healed and even brought people back to life, which is an amazing accomplishment. While he’s done many impressive things, his most significant contribution is likely his role in the Five’s resurrection process. He helped bring millions of people back to life in the White Hot Room, proving just how incredibly powerful he is.
1) Jean Grey

Jean Grey is consistently ranked among Marvel’s most powerful characters, and her abilities are amplified even further when combined with the Phoenix Force. She’s a naturally gifted telepath and telekinetic, capable of incredible feats. While her telekinesis is extremely strong, her telepathy is considered an Omega-level power – the highest tier. Without the Phoenix Force, she’s typically considered second only to Professor X in terms of psychic ability. A prime example of her power was demonstrated in X Lives of Wolverine, where she sent Wolverine back in time using his memories – a feat only she, Xavier, and Rachel Summers have accomplished.
