The latest baseball game from San Diego Studio launches on March 17th, 2026, and Sony just dropped the first gameplay trailer! It shows off a lot of the new features you can expect in the game, with just over a month until release.
I just checked out the PlayStation Blog, and it sounds like this year’s game has a ton of cool new stuff added to it! I’m really excited to learn more.
Road to the Show now features 11 new college teams, a realistic NCAA Men’s College World Series tournament, and fresh objectives to pursue as you develop your player’s career.
There’s also a mode called Road to Cooperstown where you begin your baseball journey in high school and try to build a career that leads to the Hall of Fame.
Diamond Dynasty is adding some exciting updates! Players can look forward to the return of content from the World Baseball Classic, a completely revamped mini-seasons mode, and lots of other new things to explore.
Season 4 continues the story of the Negro Leagues, and Franchise mode has been improved to be more user-friendly. We’ve also updated the trading system to make it more realistic and easier to use.
Finally, here are the main notes with regard to gameplay updates:
- Big Zone hitting is a new batting interface for players of all skill levels
- Play at three new stadiums including: The Tokyo Dome, Estadio Hiram Bithorn, and Terrapin Park
- Bear Down Pitching gives you more control in the clutch situations
- Hits per 9 innings and strikeouts per 9 innings attribute splits and pitch repertoire usage rate
- Reaction rating attributes for fielders (left, right, forward, and back)
- Catcher Pop Time attribute
- Plate Coverage Indicator sensitivity slider for more control over your PCI
- Added over 500 new gameplay animations
- Re-captured all knee down catcher animations which includes throws, blocked balls, wild pitches and more
You can now pre-order the game! If you get the Digital Deluxe edition, you’ll get to start playing four days before everyone else.
