Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Announced for February 5th

Just as many expected, Nintendo will be holding a Direct Partner Showcase on February 5th. The presentation starts at 6 AM Pacific Time and is expected to last around 30 minutes, with new information about upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch and its successor.

The Partner Showcase primarily highlights games and software from other companies. While it covers a lot of ground, we think Bloober Team might use it to reveal the first look at their next project – possibly Project M, which could be a game exclusive to the new Switch 2.

Although a new mainline Pokémon game isn’t expected, we’ll probably see Pokémon Pokopia, a life simulation game developed by Omega Force. This is because AAA Studio previously showed off Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment at the July 2025 Partner Showcase. While not a completely independent game, the fact that it was featured as a “Partner” title is significant.

I’m really hoping Capcom shows up! They might finally give us a release date for the Switch 2 demo of Pragmata, and I’m excited to see a new trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection which is coming out on March 13th. But honestly, what I’m really hoping for is an announcement of Monster Hunter Wilds for the Switch 2. Some digging around in the game files seems to have revealed details about how it might run on the new console, like the frame rate and resolution, so it feels like it’s finally happening!

We’ll soon have a better idea of Nintendo’s upcoming game releases, so keep checking back for the latest news and updates.
