Kate Middleton is leaning into warmth and well-wishes.
During a visit to Wales, the 44-year-old royal thanked a fan for acknowledging her recent cancer diagnosis and recovery.
He wished her a speedy recovery in a video taken on February 3rd outside Hiut Denim, referencing the recent incident she experienced.
Kate, who shared in January 2025 that her cancer was in remission, beamed as she said, “Thank you so much. It truly lifts my spirits to meet such lovely people.”
In March 2024, the Princess of Wales announced she was undergoing treatment for cancer and would be reducing her public appearances. Just under a year later, Kate—mother to Prince George (12), Princess Charlotte (10), and Prince Louis (7), and wife of Prince William—shared the wonderful news that she had finished chemotherapy and was now in remission.
She announced in a January 2025 post on X that her cancer is in remission and she’s continuing to focus on getting better. She added that, like anyone facing a cancer diagnosis, it’s taking time to adjust to life afterward.
Kate is slowly getting back to her royal work, and this week she visited Wales to learn about the country’s textile industry. She even tried weaving and sewing, as reported by BBC.

All the while, Kate has kept gratitude at the forefront of her mind.
In December, she released a holiday message looking back on the challenges and joys of the past year. She expressed gratitude for the public’s support, acknowledging their kindness and the positive impact they have on others.

She also shared a message about healing last month while celebrating her 44th birthday.
In a recent video, Kate shared that even during the bleakest times of winter, there’s a chance for peace, reflection, and inner understanding. She described how things slow down, like a stream becoming calm enough to see your own reflection, allowing you to connect with yourself and the subtle energy of the natural world.
Honestly, listening to her just…gets me. She said she’s so grateful, and it hit me so hard. It’s like, she understands! She talked about how everything inside us just flows when we let go of fear – like being washed clean. It’s about accepting even the sad stuff, our tears, and actually feeling alive. She described being connected to nature, and it’s like nature is this gentle guide, whispering to us through our memories and helping us heal. It’s…beautiful. I just feel so understood when she talks like that.
Now that Kate is starting her royal duties for 2026, let’s remember some recent public appearances by other members of her family.

Marius Borg Høiby, the eldest son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson of Crown Prince Haakon, was arrested on February 1st for assault, threatening someone with a knife, and breaking a restraining order, according to a statement from Oslo police to The Associated Press.
The 29-year-old man, who isn’t a royal and doesn’t have any official responsibilities, will be held for up to four weeks due to concerns he might commit further crimes. This follows a decision by the Oslo district court. His lawyer, Petar Sekulic, said they are thinking about challenging the court’s ruling.
Høiby is scheduled to appear in court on February 3rd to face charges related to four alleged rapes that occurred between 2018 and 2024. He’s also accused of two instances of domestic violence and breaking a restraining order.
In a statement to the Associated Press, the accused man’s lawyers said he strongly denies all claims of sexual abuse and most of the accusations involving violence.

Flora Vesterberg, whose grandmother is Princess Alexandra (a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II), has announced she is expecting her first child with her husband, Timothy Vesterberg.
She announced on Instagram on January 19th that she and Timothy are expecting their first child, expressing their immense joy.

Prince Harry began a trial in London’s High Court on January 19th, taking on Associated Newspapers – the company behind the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, and Mail Online. He alleges the media group used dishonest methods to gather news.
Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley, and Sadie Frost are also joining the lawsuit against the publishing company.
Associated Newspapers has “vigorously denied” the claims, according to the BBC.

Oh my gosh, you guys, can you believe it’s been TEN YEARS for Harry and Meghan?! They just dropped the sweetest video – it’s all in black and white and it’s them just…dancing together in their backyard! Seriously, it’s so intimate and romantic, I’ve watched it like, five times already. They’re just the cutest, I swear!
I was so charmed by Prince Harry and Meghan’s latest Instagram post! They shared a sweet video set to Olivia Dean’s ‘So Easy (To Fall In Love),’ and the best part? It was filmed by their adorable 4-year-old daughter, Lilibet! Meghan shared that Lilibet was behind the camera, and honestly, it’s just the cutest glimpse into family life with her and their son, Archie, who’s six.
The couple shared a cute photo from when they first started dating. It shows them hugging during a trip outdoors.
“When 2026 feels just like 2016….,” Meghan wrote in the caption. “You had to be there.”

Queen Sofia of Spain’s sister passed away on January 15th at the age of 83, according to an announcement from the Greek royal family’s office.
The Greek Royal Family announced with great sadness the death of Princess Irene, a cherished sister and aunt, who passed away on Thursday, January 15th, 2026, at 11:40 AM local time at Zarzuela Palace in Madrid, surrounded by family.
The funeral for her took place on January 19th at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens, and she was buried at the Royal Cemetery of Tatoi.

On her 44th birthday, the Princess of Wales shared a message on the power of nature to heal.
In a recent video, Kate reflected on winter’s ability to bring peace and introspection. She described how the season’s quiet stillness allows us to slow down, look inward, and connect with both ourselves and the natural world, like seeing our reflection in a gently flowing stream.
I’ve been thinking about how thankful I am. It’s like a gentle release – letting go of fears, finding peace with sadness, and truly feeling what it means to be alive. Nature is a calming presence, a quiet guide that helps us remember and heal.

Princess Catherine made her first public appearance of 2026, joining Prince William at London’s Charing Cross Hospital. The visit was a show of support for healthcare workers and came nearly a year after she shared the news that her cancer was in remission.
