Bandai Namco recently shared a quote on X (formerly Twitter) from Kohei Horikoshi, the creator of My Hero Academia. Horikoshi said he was happy to be the original author after getting a chance to play the game before its release.

Horikoshi described the game as funny and endearing, occasionally even a bit ridiculous. He added that it really captured the spirit of My Hero Academia – the character power-ups are over-the-top, and there’s a huge cast of characters. He estimated around 68 characters, and suggested the number might grow even larger.

The characters’ facial expressions are incredibly well done, and the animations are really smooth and enjoyable, even for a game focused on characters! Horikoshi also said he plans to play online and is excited to battle other players in the future.

A trailer released in mid-January gave fans a taste of the fast-paced action coming in the new game, launching February 5th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The trailer highlighted the main characters players will control, and showed they’ll be able to play through iconic battles from the “Final War” arc of My Hero Academia. A trailer revealing the full character roster followed last week.

In My Hero Academia: All’s Justice, players will build teams of three heroes to battle opponents in arenas inspired by the popular manga and anime. The game will feature several modes, including a story mode, cooperative Team Up Missions, and the Archives Battle mode, where players can replay famous battles from the entire My Hero Academia series.

Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia first appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2014 and quickly became a popular new superhero series. An anime adaptation followed in 2016, allowing the story to reach even more fans and boosting its popularity significantly.

The original My Hero Academia anime series concluded on December 13, 2025, after a run of 170 episodes, 10 OVAs, and four movies. However, fans can still enjoy new content with More, an animated epilogue adapting the final chapter of the manga. Additionally, the prequel spinoff My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
