7 Movie Trailers To Expect at the Super Bowl 2026 (& 3 Not To)

The Super Bowl consistently draws the largest television audience of the year, and companies spend millions for just thirty seconds of advertising time to reach viewers nationwide. Because movies are also products, Hollywood has long recognized the value of this huge audience. In fact, studios have been debuting trailers during the Super Bowl since the 1990s, with the iconic Independence Day trailer being an early success. Today, we typically see around six short previews for major movies set to release in the coming months or during the summer.

Like every year, we’re starting to get a first look at the movies that will be advertised during the Big Game. This year’s lineup includes films for families, a biopic about a famous musician, and a superhero movie. However, some anticipated trailers won’t be shown, which may disappoint viewers.

10) Expect Michael

It’s rare to see trailers for musician biopics during the Super Bowl. We didn’t get one for films like Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, or Elvis in recent years. However, this year is different, with the first look at the Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, directed by Antoine Fuqua.

9) Expect Disclosure Day

This isn’t the first time a Steven Spielberg movie has gotten special attention during the upfronts. Back in 2008, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was featured, and in 2019, Xfinity aired a heartwarming commercial reuniting the cast of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Xfinity will continue this tradition this year with another sweet commercial, bringing together the stars of Jurassic Park.

8) Do Not Expect Avengers: Doomsday

If you’re hoping to watch a trailer for Avengers: Doomsday during the game, you’ll need to find it on YouTube – there won’t be a new one shown during the event. The good news is, YouTube currently has four different trailers available for you to watch.

7) Expect Scream 7

With the release of Scream 7 quickly approaching on February 27th, the marketing is now in full swing. Following the release of the final poster and full trailer, a new 30-second clip will be revealed this Sunday. The previous film, Scream VI, also had a trailer debut during the Super Bowl in 2023.

6) Expect The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

I’m so excited to hear that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is coming out this year, just like The Super Mario Bros. Movie did! It looks like Universal is really hoping for another big hit – they’re using a similar marketing approach and releasing it around the same time in April. Fingers crossed it does just as well, if not better!

5) Do Not Expect Spider-Man: Brand New Day

It’s rare these days for major movie studios to keep details under wraps, but surprisingly little is known about the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. With the film less than six months away, we still haven’t seen even a short preview, and that won’t change during the Super Bowl. Previous Spider-Man movies, like Homecoming and Far From Home, had their first trailers released about seven months before hitting theaters. However, No Way Home‘s teaser came out only four months early, suggesting the studio might be taking a similar, secretive approach with this new film.

4) Expect The Mandalorian and Grogu

So far, only two out of the five Disney Star Wars movies – The Force Awakens and Solo – have been advertised during the Super Bowl. But that number will soon increase to three! Disney is skipping a Marvel ad this year, but they’re planning to release a teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu during the game.

3) Expect Hoppers

You’d expect Pixar to advertise most of their films during the Super Bowl, but they haven’t always done so. They had spots for Toy Story 4 in 2019 and Inside Out 2 in 2024, but skipped advertising Onward and Soul (2020), Luca (2021), Turning Red and Lightyear (2022), Elemental (2023), and Elio (2025). This year, however, we might see ads for two movies. Hoppers is almost guaranteed to get a spot, while a Toy Story 5 ad is less certain. It makes sense to focus marketing efforts on Hoppers since it’s coming out soon, and Toy Story is already a well-known and popular franchise.

2) Do Not Expect Supergirl

Similar to Marvel, DC isn’t planning to advertise during this year’s Super Bowl. This is surprising, as their upcoming movie isn’t as guaranteed a hit as some previous Marvel successes. They’ve already released a good-sized trailer and a teaser focusing on Lobo, so creating a short ad shouldn’t be too difficult. However, with the movie coming out in less than five months, we can anticipate a more aggressive marketing push very soon.

1) Expect Minions 3

Illumination, the studio behind Despicable Me, has a history of launching big film campaigns with Super Bowl commercials. Their movies Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax (2012), Minions (2015), The Secret Life of Pets (2016), and The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) all had teasers during the Super Bowl. Now, they’re adding Minions 3 to that list, with a first look expected to air this Sunday.
