Rick and Morty Finally Drops First Look at Season 9 (Watch)

I’m so excited! We finally got our first glimpse of Season 9 of Rick and Morty! After Season 8 wrapped up last year, things were quiet about what was next, even though we knew Adult Swim had renewed the show all the way through Season 12. But now, the wait is easing up because they just dropped a first look at what we can expect in Season 9! It’s great to finally have an update.

Adult Swim has given fans a first look at Season 9 of Rick and Morty, which is currently being made. This sneak peek offers a glimpse at an early version of an upcoming episode, and it appears to be just as good as Season 8. You can check out the preview below!

What to Know for Rick and Morty Season 9

As of today, Adult Swim hasn’t announced when Season 9 of Rick and Morty will be released. This sneak peek suggests the new season might take a little longer to arrive than fans were hoping, but it doesn’t seem to be too far off. Based on how production is going, it’s possible we could see the season later this year, or by early 2027. Hopefully, this first clip will lead to more updates coming soon.

Before Season 8 of Rick and Morty premiered, Adult Swim announced it had renewed the show through Season 12. They originally ordered enough episodes to cover up to Season 10, but this new deal adds Seasons 11 and 12. This large renewal makes Rick and Morty one of Adult Swim’s longest-running original series.

Rick and Morty Is Getting a Keith David Spinoff

But that’s not all! Rick and Morty is also getting its first-ever spinoff series on Adult Swim. Called President Curtis, the show will star Keith David as the President himself, taking center stage this time. Created by Dan Harmon and James Siciliano—the minds behind Rick and Morty—the series will focus on President Curtis and the everyday happenings at the White House, which were only briefly shown in the original show.

The new series, President Curtis, stars Keith David and features a talented voice cast including Stephanie Beatriz (from Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Jim Rash (Community). David expressed his enthusiasm for the show, saying he’s always enjoyed playing President Curtis and is thrilled to delve deeper into his world. He hinted at plenty of exciting events unfolding when Rick Sanchez isn’t the center of attention.

There’s plenty to be excited about with both Season 9 of Rick and Morty and the upcoming President Curtis in development! What are your thoughts? Share them in the comments and join the discussion in the ComicBook Forum!
