Disney+’s Star Wars television shows, starting with The Mandalorian in 2019, are still growing in popularity. This connected universe, often called the “MandoVerse,” has ushered in a new phase for Star Wars, linking storylines from the original films and animated series. With a seventh show planned for release in 2026, there’s no indication this expansion will stop anytime soon.
A new season of the live-action Star Wars series Ahsoka is coming to Disney+ in 2026. The show, which premiered in 2023, follows Ahsoka Tano, a character first introduced in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels. Rosario Dawson plays Ahsoka in the live-action universe, having first appeared in The Mandalorian.

The first season of Ahsoka further connected the stories within the MandoVerse, introducing several characters from the Star Wars: Rebels animated series into live-action. Fans have eagerly awaited season two, and Disney+ has now announced it will premiere by the end of 2026, marking the seventh installment in the MandoVerse series.
The second season of Ahsoka will likely build on storylines from across the MandoVerse, particularly the consequences of Grand Admiral Thrawn’s escape at the end of Season 1. It will also continue the journeys of characters from Star Wars: Rebels, including Sabine, Ezra, and Hera. Created by Dave Filoni, the series features Rosario Dawson, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lars Mikkelsen, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Eman Esfandi in leading roles.
All of Disney+’s MandoVerse Chapters So Far
The Mandalorian Season 1

The story of The Mandalorian began in 2019 with the show’s first season, debuting alongside the launch of Disney+. It was Lucasfilm’s first live-action Star Wars series, and viewers immediately connected with the main characters: Pedro Pascal as the mysterious Din Djarin, and the adorable Baby Yoda.
Taking place after the defeat of the Empire in Return of the Jedi but before the rise of the First Order in The Force Awakens, The Mandalorian showed a time of transition in the Star Wars galaxy and kicked off a larger connected series of TV shows.
The Mandalorian Season 2

After the incredible popularity of its first season, The Mandalorian came back for a second season on Disney+ a year later.
The second season of The Mandalorian started building a larger connected universe within Star Wars. It brought back beloved characters from animated series, like Ahsoka (played by Rosario Dawson) and Bo-Katan Kryze (played by Katee Sackhoff), and reintroduced original actors like Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett. The season ended with a particularly significant return: Luke Skywalker himself, solidifying The Mandalorian’s importance to the overall Star Wars story.
The Book of Boba Fett

After Temuera Morrison reprised his role as the Mandalorian in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Lucasfilm created a spin-off series for the character called The Book of Boba Fett.
After appearing in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett showed the famous bounty hunter trying to establish himself as a powerful figure in Tatooine’s criminal world, taking over the territory previously controlled by Jabba the Hutt. The series also brought back Din Djarin from The Mandalorian, with one episode largely focusing on his quest with the Darksaber. Many viewers felt this episode, and the show overall, served as a bridge between seasons of The Mandalorian.
The Mandalorian Season 3

The latest season of The Mandalorian concluded several key storylines, finally defeating Moff Gideon and his Dark Troopers. It also focused on Din Djarin’s relationships with other Mandalorians, like Bo-Katan Kryze, and continued to build the larger world of the show.
Ahsoka Season 1

Following her popular appearance in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Rosario Dawson’s character, Ahsoka Tano, received her own live-action show. This new series picks up where her storyline left off in The Mandalorian, continuing her search for Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Alongside the return of characters like Sabine, Ezra, and Hera from Star Wars: Rebels, Ahsoka has become one of the most connected Star Wars shows on TV. It brings together the stories of well-known characters and weaves them into the current MandoVerse storylines.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Though not directly tied to shows like The Mandalorian, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place during the same time as other Star Wars series on Disney+. Created by Jon Watts, the show centers on a group of kids lost in space who try to find their way home, discovering friendship and excitement during their journey.
Though Skeleton Crew largely told a new story, it did include a brief appearance by the pirate Vane, who fans may remember from The Mandalorian.
Bonus: The Mandalorian & Grogu

Due to the popularity of the shows set in the world of The Mandalorian, a movie version will be released in May 2026. This film, titled The Mandalorian & Grogu, will continue the story as if it were a fourth season of the original series, and will be the first Mandalorian story shown in movie theaters.
It’s not yet known how closely The Mandalorian & Grogu will tie into the larger Star Wars universe, but the show will definitely feature the live-action comeback of Zeb from Star Wars: Rebels.
The fate of the Star Wars universe connected by The Mandalorian and Ahsoka may depend on how well these shows perform. Everyone is eagerly awaiting the new Star Wars releases planned for 2026 to see what direction the story will take next.
