Pearl Abyss recently released a new video showcasing features of Crimson Desert, and this time they focused on how players will progress and improve their characters, alongside the combat system. Even a strong character like Kliff will begin with limited skills and weak gear. To become more powerful, players will explore the world of Pywel and find Abyss Artifacts, which will unlock and enhance their abilities.
You’ll find some items simply by exploring the world, but others are guarded by tough bosses who also want them. If you’re struggling, visit a Blacksmith to buy new weapons or improve the ones you have. You can also customize your weapons with Abyss Gear, which boosts stats like attack speed, damage against powerful foes, and your chance to land critical hits.
You don’t just get new skills by collecting items. You can also learn them by watching what others – even enemies – do, like a strong palm strike or a surprising belly flop that damages a wide area. To find the best weapons, you’ll need to defeat incredibly challenging bosses, including robotic fleets and a giant dragon.
With its release on March 19th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, Crimson Desert is shaping up to be an incredibly exciting and immersive experience. You can find more information about the game’s open world and features here.
