Britney Spears is calling out her family once again.
Britney Spears recently opened up about her difficult relationship with her family, explaining how years of what she describes as mistreatment have affected her feelings towards them.
In a recent Instagram post, Britney shared her thoughts on the importance of human connection. She wrote that everyone simply wants to feel loved and avoid loneliness. She specifically addressed those who have experienced family members trying to isolate them, saying those actions were misguided. While forgiveness is possible, she emphasized that those hurtful experiences aren’t easily forgotten, and the need for connection is always vital.
The 44-year-old, who was freed from a 13-year legal arrangement with her father, Jamie Spears, in November 2021, shared that she feels fortunate to still be alive despite how her family treated her, and now she’s afraid of them.
Britney went on to suggest that her family hasn’t taken accountability for their alleged actions.
She posted, ‘It’s strange how things unfold, almost like there’s a hidden plan at work. I’m wondering what message we’re supposed to get today. But honestly, I don’t think anyone will own up to their mistakes, no matter what that message is.’
Britney recently gave an update on how she’s been doing, mentioning she baked a cheesecake with a neighbor. She also shared that she hasn’t been able to dance for a month because she fractured her toe—twice!
TopMob News reached out to Jamie’s reps for comment but has not heard back.

For years, Britney Spears has publicly discussed her difficult relationship with her family, including her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, and her siblings, Jamie Lynn and Bryan Spears. She’s shared details about the challenges she faced, particularly during the conservatorship that began in 2008.
In October, she described a difficult experience from her past, explaining that for four months she was denied privacy and prevented from moving freely.
She described the experience as deeply spiritual and devastating, saying it went beyond physical pain. According to People magazine, she felt a fundamental part of herself had been destroyed, like losing her ability to function normally and suffering lasting brain damage. She expressed feeling stripped of her strength and potential.

Britney Spears’ 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, revealed shocking details about her family. In the book, the Grammy-winning singer—who has two sons, 20-year-old Sean Preston and 19-year-old Jayden James, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline—explained that the conservatorship made her feel like a child and robbed her of her independence as a woman.
She explained that because others didn’t treat her as an adult, she often found herself acting like a child. Then, she’d try to regain her composure, but felt trapped by a situation that wouldn’t allow her to truly grow up. This left her feeling like she was missing out on essential life experiences – the exciting and sometimes forbidden pleasures that make us feel alive.

Jamie, age 73, has always said he acted in what he believed was Britney’s best interest.
Anyone who has supported a family member with mental health challenges understands the constant worry and effort involved. In Jamie Spears’ case, this also meant staying silent despite facing false and unfair attacks from the public, the media, and even Britney’s lawyer, as his attorney explained in a statement during their legal dispute in September 2021.
Jamie Lynn, 34, also made her feelings clear about Britney clear in July 2023.
She told Variety at the time, ‘You should be incredibly proud.’ She emphasized the family’s journey, saying, ‘You’ve come from humble beginnings, and now everyone is interested in both the successes and challenges you’ve faced. But most importantly, you have a strong female role model to look up to, and that’s something to be truly proud of.’
