Rebecca Ferguson is getting deep.
Actress Rebecca Ferguson, known for her role in Silo, recently spoke about becoming a mother at 23 to her son, Isac. She shared that Isac’s father, Ludwig Hallberg, a holistic therapist, was 22 years her senior, but the age gap didn’t feel large because of her life experiences at the time.
She told Harper’s Bazaar that she began working at a young age, starting at 15. She described it as a sudden immersion into the adult world of work, maturity, and responsibility.
The 42-year-old explained that it was important to him to be financially independent and self-reliant. He prefers to support himself and handle challenges on his own, finding a way to succeed without relying on others.
Rebecca carried that determined attitude throughout her career, even while performing stunts on the Mission: Impossible films in 2018 when she was pregnant with her daughter, Saga, who she shares with her husband, Rory St. Clair Gainer.
She remembered times when she’d be actively fighting, then quickly run away to be sick in a bag, grab a mint, and immediately return to the fight.
Rebecca is determined, but being a mom is her top priority. She makes sure to limit any time away from her children to just three weeks at a stretch.
As she put it, “That was my number one [priority].”

While the actress from The Greatest Showman generally keeps her private life to herself, she’s talked before about the challenges and rewards of being a working mother in Hollywood, and has even brought her children to the movie set with her.
She explained to the Belfast Telegraph in 2017 that her son sometimes visits the movie set, where he enjoys watching the stunt team work. She’ll leave him with them while she’s working, and he’s often fascinated by the stunts, even hanging off a harness to get a closer look. However, she doesn’t believe he has any interest in becoming an actor himself.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! She actually told us she totally swiped something from the Hercules set – can you even imagine?! It wasn’t just anything, though; she brought it home for her little girl! I’m dying! It’s the cutest, most amazing thing ever, and it just proves how sweet she is. I need to know what it was, seriously!
She admitted to stealing a prop skull from a film set. Speaking on The Late Night with Seth Meyers in November 2024, she explained she still has it and even let her daughter take it to school for show and tell. However, the school asked her to send something different instead.
Rebecca isn’t alone – many Hollywood couples have significant age differences. Here’s a look at some other celebrities who’ve talked about theirs…

The actresses are used to people commenting on their 32-year age difference. Sarah addressed the criticism in a 2018 interview with Modern Luxury, saying she doesn’t concern herself with others’ judgments. “If anyone wants to waste time questioning my love for an amazing person, that’s their issue, not mine,” she stated. “I’m perfectly happy.”

Honestly, I’ve always admired how Heidi handles things, especially when people question her relationship with Tom! She’s so confident. She told InStyle a while back that she really only gets asked about the age difference – he’s quite a bit younger than her – and it’s the only time age even crosses her mind. She doesn’t dwell on it, and she’s going to live her life how she wants. She’s so right – worrying just isn’t worth it, and it’ll only make you age faster! I love that she prioritizes happiness and doesn’t let anyone else’s opinions bother her.

Priyanka Chopra has pointed out what she sees as a double standard. She observed that people often criticize the age gap between her and her husband, but wouldn’t react the same way if the roles were reversed. In an interview with InStyle, she explained, “We got a lot of criticism for that, and still do. It’s interesting that when the man is older, nobody seems to mind – in fact, they often approve.”

As a longtime fan, I’ve always been fascinated by Sam Taylor-Johnson and Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s relationship, and I recently read her thoughts on their age difference. She says it honestly never comes up for them in their daily lives. In an interview with The Guardian, she explained it only gets brought up when people ask about it, or from the outside looking in. They know they’re a bit unconventional, but after 14 years together, she feels like it just doesn’t matter anymore! It’s actually quite interesting – she pointed out that her relationship with Aaron has already lasted longer than her marriage to her ex-husband, Jay Jopling, who was only about four years older than her. When you think about it like that, she says, the age gap really seems irrelevant.

Despite sharing a birthday on September 25th, the couple experiences the typical challenges of any relationship. The actress, who starred in Chicago, revealed in a 2021 interview with WSJ. Magazine that her husband is 25 years her senior. She emphasized that, like all relationships, theirs has its moments, but love and respect remain constant.

Dennis, known for his role in The Parent Trap, believes it’s only their business who focuses on his relationship with Laura, the cofounder of Bonniedale Films – just the two of them. He wants people to understand that’s all that matters.
Despite the significant age gap – Laura is 39 years younger – Dennis says they don’t pay attention to the outside commentary.
In a 2021 interview with Today, he explained, “We honestly don’t even notice it.” He added that they have an incredibly strong connection, saying, “I’ve never been closer to anyone in my life. We have a wonderful relationship. Love will always find a way, and you can’t predict who you’ll fall in love with. We couldn’t be happier.”

The yoga instructor recently revealed she used to be critical of couples with large age differences, before she started dating an actor 26 years older than herself.
On her podcast, Witches Anonymous, she explained that she’d previously assume older men in such relationships were seeking someone naive, and younger partners were only interested in money. She described her past mindset as harshly judging these couples, believing the younger partner didn’t genuinely care about the older one.
However, she now realizes she was wrong.
She admitted that being in this relationship herself has changed her perspective, making her question why she used to be so judgmental. She now believes that love comes in many forms and that just because a relationship looks different from what others expect, doesn’t make it any less real or valid.

Get ready for this: actor Stanley Tucci, known from The Devil Wears Prada, revealed he almost broke up with his wife early in their relationship. He explained in a 2023 interview on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs that he was concerned about the age difference – he’s 21 years older than she is – and didn’t want to feel old. However, he quickly realized she was someone truly exceptional.

Sienna Miller and Oli Green are aware that some people might find their relationship confusing. Oli explained to Vogue that their 15-year age difference could make it hard for others to understand, but he insists their connection has been filled with love and happiness. Sienna added that, quite simply, they don’t feel the need for anyone else to understand their feelings, stating that matters of the heart can’t be forced or explained.

Jeff Goldblum shared a funny story about his wife, Emilie, who is 30 years younger than him. He was on The Hoda Show and recounted asking her, “If I were a Beatle, which one would I be?” Emilie playfully responded, “Rex Harrison,” confusing him since they’d recently seen My Fair Lady. Jeff quickly pointed out she was thinking of the actor, not a Beatle. He added that she soon realized she meant George Harrison. Jeff joked that this mix-up highlights their age difference and differing cultural references, but overall, things are going well for the couple.

She also doesn’t feel pressured to defend their 20-year age difference to anyone who questions it.
In a 2013 interview with Glamour, she explained that she finds his experience and character very appealing. She emphasized that their connection goes beyond age, stating that while careers fluctuate, having a supportive partner is what truly matters. “If you have someone at home who thinks you’re the greatest person in the world, that keeps you going,” she said.

Katharine McPhee seems unbothered by criticism of the 35-year age difference between her and her husband. Speaking on the Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy Podcast in 2023, she acknowledged initial judgment but said, “Things are never as they appear.” Ultimately, she emphasized that she’s happy and in love, and that’s what truly matters.

Kristin Cavallari addressed the criticism she received over the 13-year age difference with her ex-boyfriend, Mark Estes. On her podcast, Let’s Be Honest, she explained in March 2024 that dating someone 13 years younger wasn’t something she actively sought out, and she previously considered 30-year-olds too young for her. While she acknowledged how the relationship might appear to others, she emphasized that Mark was mature for his age and that a person’s age isn’t the only measure of their maturity. She believes life experiences and upbringing are more important factors. However, she later revealed that they ended up breaking up months after the conversation.
As someone who’s seen a lot of relationships and life stages, I really believe young people need the freedom to grow and discover who they are. Looking back at my own twenties, I realize just how much happens in those crucial, formative years – it’s when you truly find yourself! My recent relationship was the best I’ve ever had, but I ultimately realized he needed that space to experience life on his own. It’s tough, but I have a feeling that down the line, he’ll understand why we parted ways, and maybe even appreciate that I allowed him to have that experience.

Oh my god, can you believe it? Apparently, when George first saw Amal, he was totally smitten, but he was so worried she wouldn’t feel the same way! He even said on Howard Stern that he didn’t want to rush things, he was scared of scaring her off. He was actually worried she’d see him as, like, an old man – can you imagine?! He’s 17 years older, and he thought that might be a problem. But thankfully, she did like him back! They got married in 2014, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It’s the most perfect romance!

The former Bachelor star isn’t concerned about the age difference between him and his wife – he’s 18 years older. He recently shared on his The Viall Files podcast in March 2025 that physical attraction is important when there’s a significant age gap.
