Get the details below.

■ Concept

Hope is Timeless

A completely new action RPG the first in the HD which combines pixel art and 3DCG!

Okay, so picture this: I’m playing this game, right? And there’s this huge continent basically swarming with monster clans. But there’s one kingdom, Huther, that’s still standing strong. It’s the last safe place for humans, protected by this awesome magical barrier. It’s seriously the only reason we haven’t been overrun!

Adventurer Elliot and his fairy companion, Faie, venture beyond the kingdom to explore newly discovered ruins and a continent steeped in a thousand years of history. Journey across this wild land, uncovering its secrets and forging new paths. Experience exciting, action-packed combat enhanced by Faie’s strategic support abilities. The destinies of Elliot and Faie are linked as they work together to unravel a long-forgotten past.

■ Story

A Story of Four Ages Across a Thousand Years

Elliot and Faie must travel through the Doorway of Time to various points in history to break the curse affecting Princess Heuria of Huther.

Elliot and Faie will journey backward in time, leaving their era, known as the Age of Safekeeping, for increasingly distant pasts. Throughout their travels, a dangerous threat constantly shadows their quest.

—Age of Safekeeping: The Present

—Age of Reconstruction The Dark Ages

—Age of Magic: A Golden Age

—Age of Budding: The Birth of Civilization

■ World

Philabieldia: A Content Overrun by Beast Tribes

Elliot’s story takes place in a world overrun by monsters and beastmen. Humans have retreated to a single kingdom, shielded from the dangers outside by a magical barrier.

Age of Safekeeping

The Kingdom of Huther stands in one corner of Philabieldia. Ruled by King Hichard, the people are able to live peacefully thanks to Princess Heuria’s spell of Safekeeping, which protects the kingdom from the beast tribes.

Elliot’s journey starts in the Age of Safekeeping, and he’ll travel back in time through the Ages of Reconstruction, Magic, and Budding.

■ Characters

Elliot (voiced by Phillip Reich in English, Ryota Osaka in Japanese)

This story centers around a kind and helpful young man who always steps in to assist others. He works as an adventurer, taking on jobs for the townspeople and getting paid for his services.

Elliot doesn’t know his parents and was raised in the kingdom’s orphanage. He regularly donates money to support the orphanage and enjoys spending time helping the younger children while he’s not on adventures.

Faie (voiced by Brenna Larsen in English, Rua Miyauchi in Japanese)

There’s this amazing fairy who follows Elliot around, but only he can see or hear her! She’s not just there for show, though – she uses her special magic to really help him out on his adventure, like a super reliable friend.

She has very few clear memories of her life before Elliot, and a nagging feeling that she’s losing something crucial follows her throughout their journey.

Princess Heuria (voiced by Sura Siu in English, Manaka Iwami in Japanese)

The princess is from the Kingdom of Huther and has a natural magical ability. She casts a protective spell called Safekeeping that keeps the kingdom safe. Because of this important responsibility, she’s unable to leave the castle and explore the world, even though she wishes she could.

Her fair and kindhearted nature has earned her the love and respect of the kingdom’s people.

King Ichard (voiced by Brent Mukai in English, Takehito Koyasu in Japanese)

The king of Huther. A benevolent ruler with a strong sense of responsibility who ever prioritizes his country’s wellbeing. He holds fast to the royal precept, “Be not a prisoner of power,” and governs Huther with a steady hand.

At the same time, he worries for his daughter, Heuria, who must continue casting the spell of Safekeeping.

Kaifried (voiced by Brad Davidorf in English, Junichi Suwabe in Japanese)

The king’s shrewd minister, who is also a capable swordsman.

Honestly, I really get frustrated with King Hichard. He’s so stuck in his old ways and leans way too heavily on Princess Heuria’s magic to solve everything. I think we should be actively looking for new magical abilities to make sure our kingdom is strong and safe for years to come – it just feels like a much smarter approach.

Euygene (voiced by Willow Engel in English, Hiro Shimono in Japanese)

The kingdom’s leading magic researcher was once an adventurer, but he realized he didn’t have the natural skill for it and decided to pursue scholarship instead.

Despite his youth, he’s gained the king’s confidence, allowing him to suggest his longtime friend, Elliot, to investigate some recently found ruins.

■ System: Elliot’s Actions

Players take on the role of Elliot and can freely explore the vast continent, fighting beastmen from Philabieldia. Along their journey, they’ll discover a variety of weapons and have the chance to investigate caves and ancient ruins.

—Two weapons may be equipped at once. Watch the enemy’s movements to determine when to strike.

Many weapons have a powerful special attack you can use by holding down the attack button to build up power.

Swords

I love using swords in this game! They’re super fast, letting me hit enemies all around me, and they’re really easy to pick up and play. Plus, if you charge up the special attack, you unleash a flurry of slashes – it looks amazing and does a ton of damage!

Shields

Remember, shields will only protect you from attacks coming directly in front of you – they won’t defend against hits from the sides or behind. Timing your shield raise correctly can give you a significant advantage in combat.

Bows

Okay, so with my bow, a normal attack just shoots one arrow, which is pretty standard. But the cool thing is, its special attack lets me fire a bunch of arrows in a wide spread – it looks awesome, and it only counts as using one arrow from my quiver, which is a huge plus!

Boomerangs

A boomerang is risky throughout its whole path, and a skilled thrower can hit opponents when it’s going out and again when it comes back.

Bombs

Bombs detonate quickly and create powerful explosions. They’re useful for breaking apart rocks and crumbling walls.

Spears

Spears excel at quickly hitting enemies from a safe distance, allowing for a series of attacks without getting too close. Their unique ability is a charging attack that moves them forward.

Hammers

Hammers are slow to swing but hard hitting, and their special attack changes to a downward blow. They can also be used to pound pegs into the ground.

Chains and Sickles

Chains and sickles are multifaceted weapons that allow for attacking at range or in the surrounding circumference. Their special attack can pull enemies in close.

Use all of Elliot’s abilities throughout the game world to find hidden areas and secrets. If you learn a new ability, revisit old locations – you might be able to reach previously inaccessible places and uncover something new.

—Use dynamic attacks to cross scattered terrain.

—Dive under logs blocking your way.

■ System: Faie’s Actions

Elliot’s fairy sidekick Faie is there to support him on his adventure. She can use her special magic abilities to find a way tricks and traps lying in wait for Elliot, and will even join the adventurer in battle. Faie’s cooperation is key to productive adventuring.

—Faie will pick up nearby items and help pick on enemies.

—The player can control Faie directly with the R stick, or a second player can control her in local co-op.

■ System: Faie’s Special Abilities

As Faie travels, she’ll unlock new magical powers. Elliot will face challenges that require fairy magic to solve, so be sure to use Faie’s abilities as soon as she learns them.

Elliot has a magical sprint ability that makes him move super fast. You can use it to solve puzzles or simply travel around the game world much quicker.

Elliot can instantly travel to Faie’s location using a special ability called “warp.” This is useful for avoiding danger, bypassing obstacles, and gaining an advantage in combat, like positioning himself behind enemies.

Should Elliot lose all his vitality and fall in battle, Faie can bring him back to life. You can continue the adventure from exactly where it was interrupted.

—Resurrection by Faie comes at a price: tul, the currency of Philabieldia. Consider your finances and surroundings before deciding to jump back into action.

■ System: Magicite

Collect magicite fragments and take them to the magicite shop to create complete magicite with unique abilities. You can equip different sets of magicite to enhance Elliot’s weapons with combined effects. Experiment with combinations to find what works best for your playstyle and gives you an edge in combat. You’ll find magicite fragments by defeating enemies and opening treasure chests.

So, in town there’s a place where you can combine magicite fragments to make full magicite. It’s a bit of a gamble – you don’t know which one you’ll get until it’s done! But, you can at least tell the game what kind of magicite you’re hoping for, based on what weapon you’re using. It’s a nice way to try and get something useful!

The more magicite you create, the higher your rank becomes, which increases your chances of getting even rarer magicite.

Each magicite costs a certain amount to equip, and you can equip as many as your available cost allows. Experiment with different combinations to find sets that work well together or are best suited for particular challenges or fights.

When choosing magicite, remember how much equipment cost you can handle. The shopkeeper can increase your limit, but it will cost you a significant amount of money.

Sword Magicite

Customize your sword and shield with special effects. You can strengthen your defenses, or intentionally make them weaker to unleash powerful counterattacks.

—Combine magicite that offers omnidirectional defense following sword attacks with magicite that powers up attacks after guarding for the ideal marriage of offense and defense.

Sometimes it’s beneficial to deliberately let your shield break. This allows you to use special abilities that add flying slashes to your attacks, even though you’ll be temporarily defenseless. Game designers can create challenges that make players weigh the risks and rewards of these kinds of strategies.

Spear Magicite

Increase your polearm’s attack range beyond what your enemies can reach, or create a powerful new weapon by combining a spear with another one.

Certain magicite types temporarily boost the power of weapons, specifically those used shortly after a spear attack. Experiment with different magicite combinations to see how their effects combine.

Use magicite to boost your special attacks’ range and make yourself invincible while using them, allowing you to charge through enemy defenses. Then, use magicite that speeds up your special attack charging to quickly escape back to safety.
