Last year, Marvel surprised fans by including several actors from the X-Men movies in the cast of Avengers: Doomsday. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, and Rebecca Romijn will all be returning to their popular roles. This strong X-Men presence has led to speculation about other mutants potentially appearing, with rumors circulating about Hugh Jackman and Famke Janssen. While some fans hoped to see Halle Berry return as Storm, that doesn’t seem likely.
While promoting her new movie, Crime 101, Halle Berry spoke with Screen Rant about her feelings for the character Storm and whether she’d play her again. She shared that Storm is a particularly meaningful role for her, and she’s grateful for the opportunity to have played her. Berry also expressed her pride in the X-Men films, noting their important messages and how happy she was to share them with her children as they grew up. Although she won’t be in the next X-Men film, Doomsday, she’s open to returning to the role in the future if the opportunity arises.
Will Storm Return in Avengers: Secret Wars?

It’s always wise to be skeptical when a Marvel actor claims they won’t be in a future movie – remember how Andrew Garfield kept his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home a secret for months! So, until Avengers: Doomsday is released, there’s a possibility Halle Berry is downplaying her involvement to keep things a surprise. However, if she’s being honest, it’s a bit of a letdown, but understandable. While fans would love to see her reunite with her X-Men colleagues, Doomsday already has a huge cast, and it wouldn’t be ideal if Berry returned only to have a small role.
Berry has expressed interest in returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and with several projects in the works, including Avengers: Secret Wars, a role is possible. If significant characters die in the upcoming Doomsday film, it could create opportunities for new heroes like Storm to join the team. Bringing Storm in to fill a void would give her a substantial role, assuming she survives the events of Doomsday within the X-Men’s storyline.
One of the trailers for Doomsday featured the X-Men, and it was pretty disturbing. The preview showed the mutants in rough shape – Cyclops was clearly suffering, Xavier’s School looked wrecked, and both Charles Xavier and Magneto appeared to be preparing for a last battle. It’s unknown if important characters like Jean Grey and Storm died in an attack, but the remaining mutants seem to be uniting to fight Doctor Doom’s army.
If Storm is still alive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it would be natural to see her in Secret Wars. She’s a key character, and it would be surprising if she wasn’t part of the fight to save everything. However, even a huge movie like Secret Wars can’t include every hero, so it will be interesting to see who makes the cut. We probably won’t get official word on Halle Berry’s potential involvement anytime soon. Filming doesn’t start until later this year, and Marvel might delay casting announcements. They’re being careful, as recent comments from Chris Hemsworth showed that revealing anything about Secret Wars could spoil details about the upcoming Doomsday movie.
