This is us, as parents.
Milo Ventimiglia, who has a 12-month-old daughter named Ke’ala Coral with his wife Jarah Mariano (who is currently pregnant), has been open about the challenges of being a new parent. He admits people likely think they’re a little crazy for having another baby so soon after their first.
Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live on February 5th, the actor described his daughter as ‘wonderful.’ He then playfully mused about the days of the week, saying, ‘What day is it? Thursday? Wonderful. It’s the same as Wednesday or Tuesday, yeah. They’re all the same. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday…’
He went on to share that Ke’ala is “actually doing great” and “sleeping through the night” already.
Milo explained that his daughter loves to wake up very early and talk to herself. He and his wife then lie in bed, worried and checking the baby monitor, wondering if she needs a pacifier or if she’s had an accident. They can’t tell what’s happening just by looking at the monitor.
He explained that after a while, you just know everything is okay. He described walking in and realizing, if she hadn’t had an accident and still had her pacifier, then things were good.
The 48-year-old initially thought he’d be a perfect parent, but quickly realized things wouldn’t be so simple. This came after a challenging time when their house in Malibu was destroyed by wildfires just before their first child was born – an experience he described as both difficult and rewarding.

He remembered thinking, ‘I was determined to be the healthiest parent possible. We’d only feed the baby organic food, buy all the latest gadgets like blenders, and even get into debates about blueberries at the farmers’ market.’ But looking back, he realized, ‘Wow, that first year was a lot to handle.’
The former Gilmore Girls star publicly praised his wife for her strength and resilience over the past year.
He was full of praise for his wife. “Jarah, if you’re watching,” he said, “you’re truly amazing. She’s incredible at handling everything life throws at her.”
