Prime Video Reveals New Crime Thriller Series Based On Best-Selling Novels In New Scarpetta Trailer

Prime Video has released a first look at its upcoming crime thriller, Scarpetta, starring Nicole Kidman. The series is based on the popular novels of the same name.

The new TV series Scarpetta, starring Nicole Kidman, is adapted from the popular novels by Patricia Cornwell. The first preview hints at a story that jumps between Kay Scarpetta’s past and present. Liz Sarnoff, known for her work on shows like Barry, The Leftovers, and Lost, developed and wrote the forensic crime thriller for television.

The new series Scarpetta will debut on Prime Video on March 11th. It’s a production of Amazon MGM Studios and Blumhouse Television, and features a talented cast including Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Ariana DeBose, Rosy McEwen, Jake Cannavale, and Hunter Parrish.

This crime drama follows Kay Scarpetta, a medical examiner, across two time periods: the start of her career in the 1990s and the present day, when she returns home to investigate a disturbing murder. As she investigates, Kay’s personal life begins to fall apart, revealing long-held secrets and a complicated relationship with her sister, Dorothy.

The series “Dr. Kay Scarpetta,” starring Nicole Kidman, brings Patricia Cornwell’s famous character to the screen. As a determined medical examiner, Dr. Scarpetta relentlessly pursues justice for victims, hunts a serial killer, and fights to defend her reputation – and a pivotal case from nearly three decades ago that could make or break her career.

This thrilling series uses the world of forensic science to go beyond just solving crimes. It explores the complicated minds of criminals and the detectives who hunt them, showing the heavy price people pay when they’re determined to find justice, no matter what.

Nicole Kidman has enjoyed a long and successful acting career, with memorable performances in films like Moulin Rouge!, Practical Magic, and The Others, as well as Babygirl. She’s returning to her roles in both Practical Magic and Big Little Lies, and will also be seen in upcoming projects including Margo’s Got Money Troubles, The Young People, Discretion, and Girls and Their Horses.

Scarpetta will premiere on Prime Video on March 11.
