Untamed season 2 gets major update as fans await new episodes of Netflix series

As a big fan of ‘Untamed,’ I was so excited to finally get a real update on what’s happening with the show! And even better, we got a little hint about where the story might go next. It’s great to know things are moving forward!

In the season one finale, Eric Bana’s character, Special Agent Kyle Turner, drove away from Yosemite National Park. This departure marked the end of an era, as the park had been central to both his professional and personal journey.

It’s now official: Turner is moving on to a new adventure that will take him overseas, far from California and across the Pacific Ocean.

The second season of the Netflix mystery thriller will take place in Hawai‘i. According to Deadline, the show’s lead, Turner, will be investigating a new case within Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park.

The next installment will feature Detective Turner investigating a puzzling death. The investigation will be complicated by the park’s unpredictable environment and existing conflicts within the local community.

The new season of the show moves to a completely different setting compared to the first, which was filmed in Canada and depicted Yosemite National Park. This time, production will take place directly in Hawaii, giving the series a fresh and visually distinct look.

Filming will start in the spring, and the second season, just like the first, will have six episodes.

Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith, who are leading the show, hinted at a change in the show’s atmosphere. They said they’re looking forward to showcasing a beautiful new national park and its unique culture, and seeing the main character, Turner, deal with new challenges outside of his familiar surroundings in Yosemite.

Untamed premiered on Netflix on July 17th, 2025, and immediately became popular. It reached the top spot on Netflix’s global Top 10 list, stayed there for seven weeks, and became the third most-watched series on the platform during the latter half of 2025, attracting 92.8 million viewers.
