Kena: Scars of Kosmora announced for PS5, PC

Okay, so I just heard some awesome news! Sony and Ember Lab are making a game called Kena: Scars of Kosmora, and it’s coming to PlayStation 5 and PC – Steam and the Epic Games Store, to be exact. The release is planned for 2026, which feels like a long wait, but I’m already hyped!

Following the release of Kena: Bridge of Spirits, we took time to plan our next project. We wanted to build on what made Kena so special and use everything we learned during development. We eventually decided to revisit Kena’s world, imagining her as a more seasoned Spirit Guide capable of helping people while they’re still alive, not just after they’ve passed on.

In Kena: Scars of Kosmora, players take on the role of Kena, now an experienced Spirit Guide. She journeys to the island of Kosmora, a place filled with diverse cultures and a hidden, sorrowful history, hoping to uncover the source of a lifelong struggle.

Okay, so I’m playing as Kena, and things got rough on Kosmora. I ran into this super strong spirit that actually broke my staff! It’s not just a weapon, though – it’s how I connect with and help other spirits, and honestly, it was keeping me alive. Now, to survive, I have to learn this old, forgotten way of being a Spirit Guide. It involves alchemy, which basically means using the elements to do some serious spirit-bending. It’s a whole new way to play, and I’m kinda excited, but also a little worried!

Throughout this world, you’ll find elemental spirits who act as companions. These charming friends grow alongside you, gaining new abilities as your connection with them strengthens. Each spirit represents a different element and is linked to others found across the world. We’ve introduced just one spirit so far, and there are many more exciting discoveries to come!

Don’t worry, there will still be plenty of lost spirits to purify. We want players to feel like Kena is becoming more powerful and capable. To add more strategy and challenge when fighting the creatures of Kosmora, we’ve introduced new elemental abilities. Mastering these new combat skills, elemental powers, and your Spirit Companion’s abilities will be essential for winning tough battles and defeating epic bosses.

We’re excited to share more about the story in Scars of Kosmora, but we want to avoid revealing any spoilers! The team has worked hard on the narrative, and we’re dedicated to delivering a moving and meaningful adventure for both returning fans of Kena: Bridge of Spirits and newcomers alike.
