FBC: Firebreak’s First Major Update Launches in Late September

Remedy Entertainment is set to roll out major updates for their cooperative shooter game, FBC: Firebreak, with the first one due in late September. This update will include a brand new Job role, complete with a fresh level comprising three Zones, two unique enemies, a novel status effect, and other enhancements. The main mission will revolve around eradicating mold strains on what they refer to as “the sushi train.

Instead, it’s switching from standard upgrades for its gear and weapons, offering a “usable and potent variant” of them right away. In return, a customization system is being developed to “adjust your guns according to your preference and enhance their power as they evolve over time.

The concept of Clearance and Corruption Levels is being replaced with an emphasis on a diverse array of “thrilling, albeit currently unproven, job scenarios” that come in different durations. This new setup falls under what we call the Crisis Board.

We’re streamlining our offerings by prioritizing our most enjoyable experiences, introducing fresh modes, and planning for additional features down the line. In this process of improvement, we’re also reassessing our matchmaking system, aiming to make it clearer and more effective in pairing players, so everyone can enjoy better and more frequent matches.

In an effort to enhance the gameplay experience, Remedy is aiming for increased variety in the early stages (Zones 1 and 2) by shuffling the positions of ammo stations, suspension lines, crucial items, and other elements. Although they understand players are eager for more jobs, the creators are exploring numerous ideas to enrich the levels, leading to a multitude of ways to expand both the content and gameplay style. They anticipate gaining valuable insights into what players prefer and dislike once they witness the new changes they’re working on.
