Fallen Tear: The Ascension launches in Early Access for PC on March 17

The side-scrolling adventure game Fallen Tear: The Ascension will be available on Steam for PC in Early Access starting March 17th for $19.99. CMD Studios and Winter Crew also announced that the full game will be released later on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.

According to CMD Studios founder Stephen Manalastas, the game Fallen Tear: The Ascension has come a long way. The recently launched Early Access version features plenty of content, including diverse areas to discover, challenging bosses to defeat, and Fated Bonds that improve the player character Hira’s abilities. The development team is eager to receive feedback from players during Early Access and plans to use that input to make Fallen Tear a truly unique game.

Here are the latest details, via CMD Studios:

CMD Studios and Winter Crew are committed to creating a truly special Metroidvania game for their dedicated fans and Kickstarter supporters. Over the next few months, they’ll be sharing regular updates through an Early Access program, allowing the community to play and provide feedback. This initial release features a substantial amount of content – around 15 to 20 hours of gameplay – including 10 connected areas, six challenging main bosses, and three optional bosses, all comprising the beginning of the game’s story.

I’m so excited about this game! You play as Hira, a really intriguing kid who has to go up against these incredibly powerful, ancient gods. You explore this beautiful world, Raoah – think dense forests and huge caves – and along the way, you meet people you can team up with. These aren’t just companions, though; you form ‘Fated Bonds’ with them, which lets you use their abilities in fights and even to get around! As you play, you’ll get better at everything – upgrading Hira’s skills and mastering new ones – so you can defeat the really tough monsters you encounter on your journey.

Experience a beautifully hand-drawn and fully voiced world where your choices matter. Explore Raoah, a map that changes based on your actions, and discover all its hidden secrets. This game blends classic JRPG elements with the exciting exploration of a Metroidvania. Find new companions throughout the world and unleash powerful combo attacks with the Fated Rush. Master challenging combat by learning enemy patterns and uncovering the game’s deep mechanics.
