Marlon Wayans recently announced on the Rap Attack Official podcast that the first trailer for ‘Scary Movie 6’ will be released on February 27th. He explained that the trailer will premiere exclusively in movie theaters before showings of ‘Scream 7,’ which makes sense considering ‘Scary Movie’ has always been known for parodying the ‘Scream’ franchise. As Wayans put it, “If you go to see ‘Scream,’ you’ll also see the ‘Scary Movie 6’ trailer.”
The new movie marks a return for the popular parody series that began with Scary Movie. The original film, directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and starring Marlon and Shawn Wayans, was a huge box office success, poking fun at well-known horror movies and leading to several follow-ups.
Details about the plot of Scary Movie 6 are still being kept secret, but Marlon Wayans has hinted that it will feature the return of popular characters like Shorty, Cindy, and Brenda Meeks. He confirmed, “We got everyone back.”
The main character will find themselves in increasingly scary and ridiculous situations, and the film will use those moments for laughs. Directed by Michael Tiddes, it’s being presented as both a fresh start and a continuation of the story for existing fans.
