Resident Evil Requiem Spoilers Face Takedowns, As Capcom Seeks to Preserve the “Day-One Experience”

Details about the story of the upcoming survival horror game, Resident Evil Requiem, have been leaked online before its February 27th release, and Capcom is understandably upset. The company posted on the game’s official English Twitter account that they want players to be able to fully enjoy the story and experience without knowing what happens beforehand.

To protect the initial experience for everyone, our legal team will keep removing leaked game content online. We’ve also asked players to please avoid sharing any spoilers or pre-release information, as the game is launching very soon.

Leaks before release aren’t unusual for Resident Evil games – it’s happened with previous titles when copies get out early. With the next game having a particularly big story, Capcom is being extra careful to remove spoilers online.

I’m so hyped for Resident Evil Requiem! It’s coming out on February 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and even the new Nintendo Switch 2. From what I’ve read, it’s going to follow Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy as they head back to Raccoon City – you know, the place from Resident Evil 2 and 3, plus a bunch of other games like Outbreak and The Umbrella Chronicles. Apparently, you can start downloading it on February 25th, and the PS5 version is HUGE – almost 73GB! It sounds like it’s going to be the biggest Resident Evil game yet.
