Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ oldest son is making the world do a double take.
To celebrate Kelly’s 25 years hosting Live with Kelly and Mark, her son Michael, age 28, unexpectedly appeared on the show February 20th.
Michael, wearing a dark gray suit, looked just like his father when he surprised his mother with a bouquet of flowers on set, joking, “I grabbed these from the green room.”
Michael smiled just like his dad, who was also wearing a black suit, and reminded everyone that he was only four years old when his mom’s show began.
Michael also praised Kelly, with whom he shares two children, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 22, with Mark. He fondly remembered some of his best moments working with his mom during her time on the talk show.
Michael chuckled, saying there were too many memorable moments to count. But if he had to pick a few, he’d definitely mention the Louisiana swamp tour, especially when he playfully tossed a snake at me – he thought it was hilarious!
For Kelly, the moment with young Michael was a mother’s nightmare.
“That was almost my final year on the show,” she added. “I almost died of a heart attack.”
Michael remembered something else, saying, “Oh, and you nearly fell out of the boat – that was hilarious!”
He also mentioned the cooking segments, all the holiday specials they filmed as a family, and, to top it all off, winning the Golden Wiener award.

As her son happily recalled his best moments from the show, it was obvious he was also making a special memory for Kelly right then and there.
Kelly said she was amazed to see the person, adding, “It’s such a nice surprise!”
To make the occasion even more heartwarming, Michael shared a video montage of cherished family memories. It featured announcements of Kelly’s pregnancies with Lola and Joaquin, cooking segments Michael did with his mother, and lovely moments with Kelly and Mark, who joined her as a cohost in 2023.
Even though Lola and Joaquim couldn’t be with their mom, they sent her heartfelt congratulations on her amazing achievement.
Lola sent a video message from London, congratulating the recipient on their 25 years with Live. She expressed how proud she was of the life they’d built, not just for themselves, but for Michael, Juino, her dad, and herself. Lola shared that they all wouldn’t be where they are today without the recipient, and believed many others would agree that the world is a brighter place with them on TV every day.
Joaquim, who is preparing for his first Broadway show, decided to film his video at his parents’ house.
Joaquin announced he’d just finished rehearsing for Death of a Salesman, collapsing onto his parents’ bed. He told them the show opens on April 9th, and finished with a loving message: “Love you, proud of you. Here’s to 25 more!”
Kelly was visibly moved and thanked Michael for the lovely surprise. He told her he was glad to be there and wouldn’t have wanted to miss it for the world.

After not sending a child back to school for the first time in two decades, Kelly decided to revisit a memory from 2008 to fill the empty space.

In a photo shared by their dad on Lola’s 19th birthday in 2020, it appears Michael is playfully surprising his younger sister.

Joaquin is surrounded by love at his high school graduation.

Kelly jokingly shared that @instasuelos learned he won’t be living with @joaquinconsuelos when Joaquin starts college at the University of Michigan this fall. She mentioned this while visiting Ann Arbor.
In March 2022, Kelly took a short vacation to Detroit to attend the Division 1 Wrestling Championships and cheer on the Wolverines.
Even though Joaquin was only a first-year student and didn’t compete in wrestling this year, Kelly admitted on a live broadcast after returning that watching the matches was incredibly stressful and aged her significantly.

After having to postpone their trip in 2020 due to the pandemic, the family finally visited Greece and Italy in June 2021.
Kelly said their oldest son and niece’s graduation trip was postponed so many times that it ended up becoming a celebration for the newest members of the family, too.

Kelly loved a family photo taken during their trip to the Mediterranean so much that she used it for their 2021 holiday card.

Kelly shared an old Easter photo from 2012, jokingly referencing her teenage child’s often-disapproving reactions, with the caption, ‘Happy Easter from 2012 because Lola approved this photo.’

Mark wished the “spectacular women” in his life a happy International Women’s Day.

“Happy Valentine’s Day to the loves of my life!” Kelly wrote from the heart on Feb. 14, 2022.

Kelly celebrated the fruits of her labor on National Sons Day, Sept. 28, 2021.

In 2021, Kelly Ripa celebrated her 51st birthday with a heartwarming post from her eldest son, 24-year-old Michael Consuelos. He shared a throwback photo of them together and wrote a sweet message, calling her a “badass” and an inspiration. He playfully added that when he compares her to a T. Rex, it’s meant as a compliment – something she should be used to by now!

I was so charmed when Kelly Ripa posted that incredible Instagram recreation from 2003! She shared a throwback photo with her kids – Michael, Lola, and little Joaquin on her lap – and perfectly recreated it almost 20 years later. It was amazing how spot-on it was, even though Kelly joked that things might look a little bigger now! It was such a sweet and fun family moment to see.

In May 2020, Kelly and Mark celebrated their oldest son, Michael’s, college graduation. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony was held virtually. Kelly shared her joy on Instagram, writing about Michael, “And just like that, you graduated! The happiness and pride you’ve brought our family are beyond words. I love you so much.”

Kelly shared a nostalgic Instagram post comparing photos of her kids from 2011 and 2019, jokingly noting how much they’ve grown – and how much smaller the walls seem now! She captioned it, “The walls have gotten smaller.”

“The Graduate #2019,” Kelly wrote on Instagram celebrating Lola’s final days of high school.

Kelly receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015 was an all-hands-on-deck event.

Kelly matched her son’s gown and the flowers at Joaquin’s middle school graduation.

When your family is this beautiful, you would likely be posing for selfies more often than not too.

Holidays always bring family together and this famous crew is no exception.

In 2003, Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, attended the opening night of the show A Year With Frog and Toad at Maxine’s in New York City.

In 2001, Mark and Kelly brought their son to the premiere of Atlantis: The Lost Empire at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City.

This family always manages to have fun, no matter where they go – whether it’s a warm, tropical place or a chilly, snowy one.
