Netflix’s Original Zombie Hit with 89% RT Will Mark 2026’s Biggest Streaming Comeback

It’s become common for popular Korean dramas on Netflix to be based on webtoons, and “All of Us Are Dead” follows that trend. The show was quickly renewed after its first season, racking up an impressive 476 million viewing hours in just 30 days, proving it’s highly anticipated. Good news for fans – it looks like season two will arrive sooner rather than later.

The K-drama All of Us Are Dead became a hit with both zombie fans and those who enjoy thrilling Korean dramas. It wasn’t just a scary show; it offered a thoughtful look at society, based on a popular webtoon. Now, season 2 is nearing completion, and fans can likely expect it to be released around 2027.

All of Us Are Dead Reportedly Wraps Filming

Fans have noticed posts on Instagram from ‘All of Us Are Dead’ actors Park Ji-hu and Cho Yi-hyun, shared on February 18th and 4th, hinting at a potential return. These posts came about seven months after filming began. Actor Lee Solomon had previously announced he finished filming, and posts from series extras also suggest filming wrapped around February 14th, 2026.

Okay, so there hasn’t been an official announcement yet, but when the main actors start hinting at things like this, it’s a pretty good sign we’ll be seeing the show on Netflix soon. Since it wasn’t included in Netflix’s recent announcement of what’s coming in January, I’m guessing we might have to wait until 2027 to finally watch it. It’s a bit of a wait, but it seems likely!

The first season was a hit with both critics (89% on Rotten Tomatoes) and viewers (82%). However, because it’s been four years since the first season aired, some fans might not be as eager to watch a second season.

K-dramas are becoming very popular, consistently ranking high on Netflix’s charts for non-English shows, and new thrillers often become major talking points, just like All of Us Are Dead did. Because South Korean horror tends to be dark and intense, a second season of All of Us Are Dead doesn’t really need to prove anything new.

Season 2 Brings the Terror to Seoul

Now that Nam On-jo has started university in Seoul after graduating high school, she’s trying to leave the terrifying events of All of Us Are Dead behind. However, even as the story moves forward, she finds herself facing new dangers and fighting to survive with a fresh group of friends.

The series features university friends Lee Min-jae, Kim Si-eun, and Yoon Ga-i in the roles of Yong Ma-ru, So Ju-ran, and Lee Jong-ah, respectively. Joining the cast is Roh Jae-won, known from Squid Game, who will play Han Du-seok, a leader in the National Intelligence Service, in All of Us Are Dead season 2. Rounding out the new additions are actors Seo Ji-hoon, Kim Min, Ahn Dong-goo, Ryu Sung-rok, and Han Hyun-jun.

Right from the start, All of Us Are Dead delivers sharp observations about society while setting the scene of a school overrun by zombies. What makes this show stand out is its unique take on the outbreak: the zombies, nicknamed “Hambies,” don’t lose all their human abilities, retaining enhanced strength, senses, and speed. This offers a lot of exciting potential as the story moves to Seoul.

The show All of Us Are Dead consistently highlighted serious issues like overlooked students, bullying, social inequality, exploitation, and the struggles facing young people. Moving the story to a university in Season 2 probably won’t change its focus on these important themes.
