I noticed something interesting today – Bandai Namco, the company known for games like Dragon Ball and One Piece, seems to have accidentally revealed a new project they hadn’t announced yet, and it’s connected to Akira Toriyama’s work!

A playlist for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 recently appeared on the Bandai Namco Southeast Asia YouTube channel. Currently, it only contains the trailer for Dragon Ball Age 1000, strongly suggesting that Age 1000 is actually the latest Xenoverse game.

Dragon Ball Age 1000 was officially announced to the world on January 25, 2026, at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event. The livestream, which was broadcast internationally, also included the first look at a new trailer and key visual.

I’m so excited about Dragon Ball Age 1000! It’s currently planned to come out in 2027, and from what I’ve heard, it’s going to be absolutely massive – bigger and more detailed than any Dragon Ball game we’ve seen before. What’s really amazing is that it’s been in the works for six or seven years now, and Akira Toriyama himself has been deeply involved in its creation. It’s going to be incredible!

This game features a new main character designed by Toriyama – a slender character with white hair that turns golden when he transforms. He’s just one of several new faces, and his story connects to the characters from the original Dragon Ball series.

When the game was first announced, the official title for Dragon Ball Age 1000 wasn’t shared, but it’s expected to be revealed at a detailed presentation during Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026. This event will be held in the U.S. from April 18th to 19th.

Akio Iyoku, executive producer of the Dragon Ball series, explained that the project has been in development for a significant period. He highlighted that Age 1000 features more content and environments than any previous game, and that Akira Toriyama contributed extensively to its creation.

Although specific details about how the game will play weren’t shown at Genkidamatsuri, the futuristic setting in Age 1000 and the new, customizable main character led many fans to think it will be an online game with multiplayer features.

If ‘Age 1000’ is ‘Xenoverse 3’, the next game in the series will likely follow the same format as previous ‘Xenoverse’ titles. This means players will create their own characters and team up online within the ‘Dragon Ball’ universe to complete challenges.

The video game Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has been popular for a long time, originally released back in October 2016 – almost a decade ago! Many fans believe it’s time for a new Xenoverse game, and Age 1000 could be just what they’ve been waiting for.
