Tactical Adventures recently shared a new trailer for their highly anticipated tactical RPG, Solasta 2. The trailer highlights the five biggest improvements they’ve made to the game since the first Solasta. You can watch it below.
One of the biggest updates to Solasta 2 is a brand new voice acting cast, featuring Ellen Thomas, Amelia Tyler, Devora Wilde, and Ben Starr. The game also boasts improved graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5, with enhancements to lighting, environments, and character models. As Ben Starr put it, even the typically rough-looking Kobolds now appear quite good!
Solasta 2 features an updated rule set based on the 2024 version of Dungeons & Dragons. Although it looks similar to the 2014 ruleset, it includes new features like Weapon Masteries, which give martial classes—such as Fighters and Barbarians—more diverse gameplay options.
We’ve significantly expanded the game’s world, giving players much more freedom to explore. The new map is filled with new stories, events, and characters to discover. We’re also rewarding exploration with hidden treasures and unique story moments you’ll stumble upon as you play.
One of the biggest improvements shown in the trailer is how the story now reacts to the player character. This means players will have more choices that actually change the plot, and all members of their party can participate in conversations.
The trailer also revealed a great feature: players will be able to multiclass. This means you won’t be stuck with just the abilities of your starting class. As you play, and once you meet certain stat requirements, you can add levels from other classes. For instance, a Fighter with high Charisma could take some levels as a Paladin to learn healing spells.
The trailer ends with Starr and Wilde explaining that you can enjoy the new tactical RPG even if you’ve never played a Solasta game or Dungeons & Dragons before.
Solasta 2 was first revealed in December 2024. It was initially planned for Early Access last year, but the release was moved to March 12th. As you might expect, Solasta 2 is a follow-up to Solasta: Crown of the Magister, though it features a brand new story set decades after the first game. The game will still take place in the same world, Neokos.
A trailer revealed when players can first access the game, and confirmed Tyler, Wilde, and Starr will be voicing characters within it.
So, Tactical Adventures hasn’t given a firm date for when Solasta 2 will fully launch, but they’re aiming for about a year in Early Access. They’re using this time to tweak things and really polish the game before the 1.0 release. They did say on Steam that how long it actually takes will depend on how many features and changes the community asks for, which is pretty cool!
