Just like Jeremy Clarkson with farming and Jamie Oliver with school meals, Danny Dyer is now taking on a big challenge: improving British holidays.
He and his daughter, Dani, have arrived in Priory Hill, Leysdown, Kent, hoping to restore a caravan park to its former glory. He wants to recreate the happy family vacations he enjoyed there in the 1980s, and they have big plans to make the park a beloved destination once again.
It’s not surprising that running a caravan park is challenging, and a father and daughter get off to a rocky start when they try to create a billboard. Despite their best efforts, the sign doesn’t attract much attention – and after being vandalized, it fails to make a positive impression on the staff at Priory Hill.
Before putting up the billboard, the Dyers hadn’t shared their idea with their team. Dani explained to TopMob that they simply got carried away with wanting to create something really striking, hoping it would grab people’s attention and spark curiosity when they drove by. She admitted they weren’t sure why they hadn’t gotten approval beforehand.
Danny explained that the caravan site lacked advertising near the Sheppey Bridge and faced competition from other sites. He admitted his initial idea for attracting attention—something unusual that would make people curious—didn’t work, and the staff disliked it.

The billboard didn’t lead to much business, but it definitely caused a stir. Someone even drew an offensive image on it, which led Danny to realize he should have spoken with the staff before putting it up.
We didn’t bother getting official approval; we just moved forward with it,” Danny explained to TopMob. “I told the designer to really push the boundaries, and he sent me some wild ideas. But I knew as soon as I saw this particular design, they’d be thrilled.
I was being playful and didn’t want the ad to be too heavy, but I learned you have to be careful with advertising, especially when it represents someone else’s brand. I tried to be clever with a play on words about nuts, but they really didn’t like it. We received strong criticism, and it turned out they were right to object.
Despite the unsuccessful billboard campaign, the team eventually created their own solution. Danny doesn’t consider the money spent a loss, but rather a valuable learning experience.
The best part of the show is that it feels real. We’re figuring things out as we go, and the audience gets to see that process—including when we get it right.
