Valorborn launches in Early Access on April 15

The open-world action RPG Valorborn will be available in Early Access on PC through Steam starting April 15th, according to developer Laps Games.

So, we’re really excited about Valorborn. It’s a big step for us after making Land of the Vikings, and honestly, we wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support we got from players of that game. It gave us the chance to build something way more complex and detailed. With Valorborn, we really wanted to give players the freedom to forge their own destiny and create their own unique stories. We took a lot of inspiration from games like Mount & Blade, Wartales, and Kenshi – those open-world, sandbox-style games – and also from fantasy worlds like Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings. We wanted to create a medieval fantasy world that feels dangerous, responsive, and full of possibilities – a place where your choices really matter.

Explore a dynamic, open-world RPG set in a living medieval fantasy realm. The world continues even when you’re not playing, with villagers going about their lives, powerful groups vying for control, and threats lurking everywhere. Play Solo or Build Your Squad

Design the main characters in your adventure. You can fully customize how each member of your team looks – including their appearance, hair, body type, and personal history – to create a unique story.

Every decision you make helps you learn and grow. Gain experience by taking action, which unlocks skills to help you survive. You can choose to confront enemies head-on with powerful weapons, or remain stealthy, avoid direct conflict, and eliminate threats before they’re aware of your presence.

Survive, Craft, and Build

Survival depends on you – the world won’t protect you. Get prepared by gathering supplies and making tools. You can either build a life in town by finding a home, or live as a wanderer, setting up temporary camps as you explore. Hunt, collect resources, and equip yourself, then do everything you can to stay alive.

Write Your Own Story

In Valorborn, you create your own story – there isn’t one predetermined path. You’ll start by simply trying to survive, and how you do that is up to you. You can make a living by stealing and selling, living off the land and trading, or taking on contracts to hunt dangerous creatures. You can influence conflicts between groups, profit from the resulting chaos, or avoid politics altogether and forge your own destiny. Every decision you make will define who you are, what people think of you, and what your future holds.
