Surgent Studios, the team behind games like Tales of Kenzara: ZAU and Dead Take, has revealed its next project: FixForce. This is a cooperative platformer where up to six players work together to complete objectives and extract from levels. FixForce will first be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in Early Access on March 12th, with a complete version planned for Xbox Series and PC in late 2026.
Surgent Studios decided to release FixForce themselves after seeing how much fun and unpredictable energy it created during development, according to founder Abubakar Salim. He explained that while FixForce is a departure from their previous, more serious games dealing with difficult themes like grief and abuse, they wanted to create something lighthearted and enjoyable. Salim jokingly assured fans they would return to making darker, more emotionally challenging games after this project.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
Okay, so this game is seriously wild! You and up to five friends basically run around a colorful, broken-down world, building stuff with a tool that’s both a drill and a wrench. The goal is to grab parts and fix machines, but it’s super chaotic and teamwork is key. Oh, and the best part? Losing your head isn’t a game over – it’s just something that happens! It’s a really fun, cooperative platformer where things are always unpredictable.
Build With Friends
Playing as FixForce bots, you and your friends (up to five of you!) will work together to build towers and pathways from salvaged parts. Use these structures to explore the worksite, and don’t forget to help each other out when things get tricky. The bigger and better your creations, the further you can go – it all depends on the scrap you collect!
Find + Fix
Each round, you and your team will start near broken machines that need fixing. Use your drill-wrench to search the area for the right parts to repair them and finish your shift on time. You can also take on extra tasks to earn some extra money.
Workplace Hazards
Every job is different, but they all come with dangers, especially from aggressive, malfunctioning robots. Stay alert to keep yourself, your teammates, and important structures like towers and bridges safe from damage while you work.
But Don’t Lose Your Head
FixForce is all about being dependable, and you thrive on dangerous missions. If something goes wrong – whether you fall, get submerged, or are disabled by an enemy robot – your teammates can easily retrieve your head and reattach it to a new body, bringing you right back into the action!
Perks of the Job
The job is demanding, but you’re determined to succeed! Each repair you complete earns you money, which you can use to buy better tools. These tools help you overcome difficult problems, and you get unique uniform upgrades as a reward.
