When a former Imperial general challenges Kefka, Kefka flies into a rage and kills the Emperor. He then destroys a set of magical statues that keep the world connected, triggering a chain reaction that devastates the planet.
Let’s be clear: the destruction Kefka causes is permanent. He shatters a significant portion of the world and reigns over the ruins for an entire year, forcing the heroes into hiding. And even after Kefka is defeated, he makes sure magic itself is wiped out. There’s no easy solution – magic is gone for good, and humanity must rebuild the world without it.
