Prior to the debut of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” it’s been confirmed by Marvel Studios that the principal cast of the upcoming film – Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, and Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards – will reprise their roles in 2026’s “Avengers: Doomsday.” Filming for this movie has already commenced, and Marvel enthusiasts now have a significant location from the forthcoming Fantastic Four film to familiarize themselves with. In a press roundtable for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” Marvel head Kevin Feige hinted at the interaction between the Fantastic Four and other Marvel characters, as well as which set they intend to share with others.
In simpler terms, Feige mentioned that the conversation was focused on the current project at hand, specifically referencing comic book fans who understand the concept of “incursions” where multiple universes intersect. He went on to explain that the world we were introduced to in “First Steps” will be further explored, and it’s being filmed on the same sets used for the Fantastic Four. This includes the famous Baxter Building living room and kitchen. In Avengers, you’ll notice more characters in that kitchen, and it’s exciting to see characters visiting each other’s homes, which is quite remarkable.

Among the confirmed cast members potentially joining the Baxter Building for Sunday dinner in Avengers: Doomsday are Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova from Thunderbolts, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, and intriguingly, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor. In Marvel Comics lore, Namor’s long-standing romance with Sue Storm and rivalry with Reed Richards have been a recurring theme for over half a century.
Feige didn’t stop with his hints about Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, the movie that comes after it. In fact, he hinted that fans might find something distinctly different in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe compared to what we saw in Avengers: Endgame back in 2019.
Instead of “Endgame,” which didn’t truly conclude and left us wondering, ‘What’s next? How do we build upon this level of achievement and finality?’ We employed it for experimentation, evolution, and expansion. However, Feige stated that “Secret Wars,” as in the comics, is more about wrapping up certain narratives while also initiating new ones. This aspect of it is what makes it so thrilling, as we’re already deep into the development of the next phase of the saga.
As a die-hard cinema enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the long-awaited “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is about to hit the silver screen this very week, gracing us with its presence on July 25! On a distant horizon, two more Marvel masterpieces, “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” are scheduled for release, with the former debuting on December 18, 2026, and the latter following suit on December 17, 2027. Can’t wait!
