Kate Middleton Shares Lifestyle Change After Cancer Battle

Kate Middleton has been trying something new.

While visiting Southwark Brewing Company in London with Prince William on March 12th, Princess of Wales chose not to sample the beer or cider, explaining that her health journey has changed how she feels about alcohol.

Kate shared with brewery owner Hannah Rhodes that she’s been drinking much less alcohol since her diagnosis. She explained she now needs to be more mindful of what she consumes. The conversation took place while reporters from various UK news organizations were present.

Instead of alcohol, the 44-year-old chose a soft drink. They also mentioned that Prince William enjoys cider, which is a family favorite.

The Prince of Wales shared his preference for cider with the crowd, explaining that he grew up drinking it in the West Country and considers himself a cider enthusiast.

While at the brewery, Kate playfully stirred one of the large kettles and asked the crowd with a laugh, “Does anyone know what I’m doing?”

The Princess and Prince William, who have three children – 12-year-old Prince George, 10-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 7-year-old Prince Louis – also spent time exploring shops at London’s Borough Market. They looked at cheeses from Todd Trethowan and even helped out at Humble Crumble, giving desserts to visitors.

The couple seemed cheerful, likely because Kate had mentioned that meeting people has been lifting her spirits while she’s been dealing with her health issues.

While visiting Hiut Denim on February 3rd, a man wished Kate a speedy recovery, referencing a recent personal issue she’d been dealing with.

Kate, who shared in January 2025 that her cancer was in remission, smiled and said, “Thank you. It really lifts my spirits to meet such kind people.”

After publicly sharing her health diagnosis in March 2024, the royal has been prioritizing her well-being and has spoken about finding inner peace during the process.

Oh my gosh, Kate just gets it, you know? She posted this thing on Instagram for her birthday, and it was so beautiful. She was talking about winter, and how even when it’s gloomy, it forces you to slow down and really think. Like, it’s like when a stream is calm, you can actually see yourself reflected in it, and she said that’s when you can really discover who you are. It’s like you can hear everything around you, the quietest little things, and it’s just… magical. Seriously, she’s so poetic, it’s breathtaking!

She shared a feeling of deep gratitude. She described a sense of inner peace, like letting go of fears and finding healing through acknowledging emotions. It’s as if connecting with nature helps us understand what it means to truly live and find comfort in our memories.

Høiby is scheduled to appear in court on February 3rd to face charges related to four alleged rapes that occurred between 2018 and 2024, along with accusations of domestic violence and breaking a restraining order.
