As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement as we celebrate a significant milestone. Exactly 20 years ago, Marvel’s remarkable family graced our silver screens for the first time in the 2005 film “Fantastic Four”. Remember the cast? Ioan Gruffudd portrayed the elastic team leader Reed Richards, Jessica Alba brought Susan Storm, aka the Invisible Woman, to life, Chris Evans ignited the screen as the fiery Johnny Storm, and Michael Chiklis gave a rock-solid performance as Ben Grimm. And who could forget Julian McMahon’s chilling portrayal of Doctor Doom?
Now, these intrepid astronauts are venturing where no “FF” movie has gone before – into the expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe! The anticipation is palpable. Let’s see what new adventures await our favorite superheroes in this exciting new chapter!
Chiklis expressed his hope for good fortune and success for the cast of First Steps. He holds these actors in high regard and is excited to watch them embody their legendary roles.
I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone for the wonderful support for the Fantastic Four over the past couple of months as we approached the release of the new movie. By the way, I’d like to extend my best wishes to the cast and crew of First Steps, a project I have high regard for. I can hardly wait to see these talented actors in action!
This version maintains the original’s informal tone while making it easier for readers to understand the intended meaning.

Chiklis, who took on the role of The Thing again in the 2007 film “F4: Rise of the Silver Surfer“, expressed gratitude to fans for their “Fantastic Four support over the past couple of months leading up to the release of the new F4 movie” and used the hashtag “#F4Forever”.
In 2024, Evans unexpectedly appeared as a unique Human Torch character in the film “Deadpool & Wolverine”. This marked him as the sole member of the Fantastic Four to resume their role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The team consisting of Pascal, Kirby, Quinn, and Moss-Bachrach are scheduled to reappear in “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars”. Producer Kevin Feige stated that these upcoming films will revitalize, not restart, the cinematic universe that originated with 2008’s “Iron Man”.
Previously, the successor of Chiklis’ character in “The Thing” told Entertainment Weekly that with “First Steps,” Marvel Studios are forging their unique path.
Moss-Bachrach mentioned that he hasn’t watched the specified films. Upon being cast, he felt it wasn’t necessary or beneficial for him to watch those movies. When people inquire about how this project differs from others, he believes it’s not constructive to create something by opposing existing works.
As for us, we’re essentially crafting our unique narrative. It’s not about undermining other films, quite the contrary. We’re simply sharing our own distinct tale. Just like a brilliant play, you could have four actors performing it initially, then replace them with four others, and though it remains the same script, the performance is an entirely new experience each time.
Experience the beginning of the Fantastic Four’s epic journey, featuring Paul Walter Hauser portraying Harvey Elder/Mole Man, Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson as Galactus, is now playing exclusively in cinemas starting July 25.
