As of Thursday, March 19th, 2026, at 5:45 PM, the social media account for PickMon—a game similar to Palworld—has been deleted.
Palworld is currently facing a lawsuit from Nintendo, which claims the game copied artwork and elements from the Pokémon series. This has created a complex legal situation.
The game’s YouTube channel and Steam page are still up and running. The account holder recently posted a message saying they don’t want a few large companies to dominate the gaming world.
Any guesses for what the creator’s referring to there?
We’ll try to contact the dev to find out why its X account was axed.
Update #1 [Tue 10th Mar 2026, 2:45pm]:
PickMon, a game heavily inspired by both Breath of the Wild and Pokémon (and often criticized for being too similar to them), has quickly become very popular online.
Dev PocketGame has achieved significant success as a small independent project, garnering over 25 million impressions across various online platforms. The official trailer on YouTube has already received over 50,000 views.
As we mentioned before, the game is coming to PS5, and the developers are actively listening to and using player feedback to improve it.
It’s still uncertain if legal challenges will prevent this from reaching Sony.
Original Story: All is fair in love and plagiarism.
The game Palworld is currently facing legal challenges from Nintendo, and now a similar game, PickMon, is set to release on PlayStation 5, potentially putting Palworld in a position to experience the same legal scrutiny it’s currently inflicting on others.
This game is clearly inspired by Pokémon’s creature designs, but it adds survival elements and outfits reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Similar to Palworld, this game is an open-world survival experience where you’ll capture creatures called PickMon and use them to battle as you explore a large, countryside setting.
Here are the key features, listed in the game’s debut trailer:
- Capture Creatures
- Use specialized cards to tame various Pickmon and turn them into your most trusted allies!
- Epic Storyline
- Traverse the mysterious continent with your companions, uncover lost history, and thwart the schemes of a shadowy organization.
- Vast Exploration
- From lush grasslands and dense jungles to frozen tundras, volcanic peaks, deep valleys, and arid deserts – use your Pickmon’s unique abilities to conquer every terrain!
- Base Building
- Design and construct a home for you and your Pickmon team.
- Farming for Survival
- Establish farms to secure your food supply and ensure your survival in the wild.
- Industrial Automation
- Build factories to automate the production of gear and weapons. Stay armed and ready!
- Multiplayer Fun
- Join forces with friends in online co-op and face the unknown together!
We’re still unsure if this game will ever be released, but you can add it to your Steam wishlist now. The developer also intends to bring it to PlayStation in the future.
So which lawyers bite first? Palworld’s or Pokémon’s? It could go either way, we reckon.
