9 Years Later, Regular Show Drops First Trailer for Cartoon Network Revival

After nine years, Regular Show is returning to Cartoon Network with a brand new series! A first look at the revival has just been released in a new trailer. What makes Regular Show special is that it not only ran for a full eight seasons, but also gave a satisfying conclusion to Mordecai and Rigby’s story. Despite the original series having a proper ending, fans are excited to see what happens next when it returns later this year.

A new series, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, is coming to Cartoon Network this May. J.Q. Quintel, the original creator, is back, and many of the original voice actors are returning as well. Cartoon Network has just released the first trailer for the revival, giving fans a preview of what to expect in this next chapter of Regular Show.

When Does Regular Show: The Lost Tapes Come Out?

The new series, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, will premiere on Cartoon Network in the US and around the world on May 11th with a special half-hour episode. After that, US fans will be able to watch it on Hulu and HBO Max later this year. The show will have a total of 44 episodes. It’s produced by Cartoon Network Studios with J.G. Quintel, Sean Szeles, and Sam Register as executive producers. Toby Jones is the supervising director, Paula Spence is the supervising art director, and Ryan Slater is the producer.

The new series, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, will bring back many of the original voice actors, including J.G. Quintel, William Salyers, and Mark Hamill. However, with the original Regular Show having a satisfying conclusion, some – even those involved in the new series – are wondering what to expect. Everyone hopes this new direction will work well and not disrupt the show’s legacy.

What Is Regular Show’s New Revival About?

It looks like Regular Show is going back to what made it great, instead of trying to reinvent itself with a sequel or updated characters. Unlike some other revivals that change things up, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes suggests we’re getting more of the same classic adventures with the park crew – and honestly, that’s exactly what fans like me were hoping for, especially considering the title connects to something hinted at in the original series finale.

When Regular Show ended almost ten years ago, it was revealed the whole series was actually a VHS tape being watched by a powerful, god-like character named Pops. The new series, titled “Lost Tapes,” promises more of the classic adventures that weren’t shown in the original run. By taking place within the original timeline, the show doesn’t need to change or ignore the events of the original finale.
