Starting in May with the game Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Nintendo will price digital-only Switch 2 games differently than their physical counterparts. This means digital versions published by Nintendo will have their own suggested retail price.
The digital version of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book will cost $59.99, while the physical copy will be $69.99.
As a Nintendo fan, I just read their statement about game pricing, and basically they’re saying that whether you buy a game as a physical cartridge or download it digitally, the gameplay experience is the same. They’re adjusting prices to reflect the costs of making and selling each version, and they want to give us more options for how we buy games. Nintendo also clarified that retailers are still free to set their own prices, so you might find different prices for the same game depending on where you shop.
