The Culling Game Continues

While it’s been a challenge, the current season is giving it its all to surpass the popular Shibuya Incident Arc. This season’s storyline, called the Culling Game, was created by Suguru Geto (also known as Kenjaku) and forces many cursed energy users to fight to the death. As a result, the number of casualties is rising quickly. Jujutsu sorcerers like Yuji Itadori, Yuta Okkotsu, Megumi Fushiguro, and Maki Zen’in are all involved, working to stop Geto’s plans and protect a powerful being named Tengen.
Even though the Jujutsu Kaisen manga has finished, the anime isn’t likely to end with season four. To adapt all of the manga’s content, we’ll probably see either a fifth season or a movie that concludes Yuji Itadori’s story. And the franchise might continue beyond that! Recently, the creator, Gege Akutami, started a sequel series called Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, set years after the original story with a completely new direction. While Yuji won’t be the main character this time, the new protagonists are strongly connected to the original series.
The story of Modulo follows the grandchildren of Maki and Yuta as they battle cursed energy users, facing off against both sorcerers and beings from outer space. The narrative also features the return of beloved characters, even though it’s set decades after the original series. While an anime adaptation of this sequel might be a ways off, given how popular the franchise is, it’s highly likely that MAPPA will continue to develop this expansive and increasingly popular supernatural world.
