After years of discussion, X-Men fans finally got a fun, official answer to the question of who would win in a fight between Cyclops and Psylocke, thanks to a playful debate between James Marsden and Olivia Munn.
James Marsden and Olivia Munn argue who wins between Cyclops & Psylocke
When Pause Rewind asked the two experienced X-Men actors who was better, Munn quickly answered, “Definitely Psylocke!” James Marsden playfully responded with, “Oh, is that so?”
Munn explained the danger with chilling clarity. She said the woman could create anything she imagined, meaning she could instantly conjure threats like falling rocks or fireballs at any moment. Munn pointed out she simply prefers to fight with a sword for the thrill of it, but if truly cornered, she’s capable of overwhelming anyone with her powers.
James Marsden, known for playing Cyclops in the X-Men movies, quickly defended himself when challenged. He responded with the same focused energy as his character, saying, “I can blast a hole through a mountain with my optic beams, so whatever you’re throwing at me won’t even make a dent.”
Munn playfully acknowledged Marsden’s move with a simple, “Well played.” Marsden continued the lighthearted competition, jokingly protesting, “I don’t like this, you’re supposed to be my opponent!” But Munn showed she wasn’t just competitive, explaining that she’s willing to change her mind if someone presents a convincing argument. She described herself as someone who is firm in her beliefs but also open to different perspectives.
James Marsden is gearing up to return as his X-Men character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sparking some good-natured discussion. The X-Men films originally produced by Fox will be incorporated into the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, and Marsden is confirmed to be part of the ensemble cast for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, scheduled for release in 2026.
