Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen finished airing in Winter 2026 with 12 episodes, covering the first part of the Culling Game arc. This season gave viewers a taste of how amazing it would be, starting by explaining the rules and goals of the Culling Game. The initial episodes focused on the setup, and once the game began, it revealed the complex and detailed world created by Kenjaku.
This tournament is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in anime in recent years, comparable to the Tournament of Power from Dragon Ball Super. While many fighters participated this season, only a handful truly mattered. We’ve identified the ten most impactful players and ranked them based on their performance and significance.
10) Hajime Kashimo

Hajime Kashimo is considered one of the most powerful players currently participating in the Culling Game, motivated by his intense desire to battle the strongest opponents and find Sukuna. He’s also unique for being the first player to successfully add a rule to the game, and he did so with points to spare.
I’ve noticed that we haven’t really seen this character’s personality directly – it’s been more hinted at through what’s happening around him. Because of that, he hasn’t made as big of an impression as some of the others. But I think that’s about to change. He’s scheduled to fight Hikaru next, who hasn’t entered the Culling Game yet, and I get the feeling both of them are going to become much more important players going forward.
9) Angel

I’m absolutely fascinated by Angel! Like Kashimo, we don’t get a ton of direct exposure to her, but she’s shaping up to be huge for ending the Culling Game – maybe even more so than Kashimo. Her real name is Hana Kurusu, and her cursed technique is just mind-blowing: she can completely erase other people’s techniques! That ability makes her essential for breaking the seal on Gojo Satoru, and honestly, I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
This immediately establishes her as a significant character. Furthermore, her timely rescue of Megumi after his fight with Reggie Star strongly suggests she’ll become a key part of the sorcerers’ group next season, and help to expand the story’s overall mythology.
8) Takaka Uro

Uro played a significant part in the Sendai Colony storyline, fighting alongside and against Yuta and Ishigori. Even though she only appeared in one episode, she powerfully demonstrated the ruthless strength of ancient sorcerers. Her connection to Yuta’s past rivals further highlighted her importance.
What really impressed viewers was her unique ability, beautifully animated in the show and given just the right amount of focus. Even though her appearance was short, it powerfully demonstrated how dangerous and high-stakes the Culling Game actually is.
7) Ryu Ishigori

Ryu Ishigori proved to be a powerful player in this season’s Culling Game, and his unusual abilities significantly impacted the final showdown. But what really makes his character stand out is how well he represents the motivations of older sorcerers in the game – specifically, their desire to fill a deep emptiness stemming from their past lives.
This culminates in a powerful moment for Yuta, finally allowing him to unleash his full potential during the climax of Jujutsu Kaisen, resulting in an incredible fight. Ryu’s distinctive abilities, compelling personality, and skillful fighting, combined with his connection to the beliefs of older sorcerers, make him a memorable and popular character in the Culling Game that fans hope to see more of.
6) Fumihiko Takaba

I’ve noticed that most of the people competing in the Culling Game have really intense, personal reasons for being there, but Fumihiko Takaba is different. He just seems… not serious at all. He showed up as a bit of a joke, actually helping Megumi with her fight against Reggie and Iori by taking on Iori himself. Honestly, nobody thought he’d be much of a fighter, but it turns out he’s hiding a surprising strength that completely changed how everyone saw him.
Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen strongly suggests that Takaba might be the most powerful character in the series, potentially even stronger than Gojo and Sukuna. His unique cursed technique lets him turn anything into a joke simply by believing it is one – and he doesn’t even realize he can do this! It’s becoming increasingly clear that Takaba will play a major role in the upcoming season and is poised to become a crucial figure.
5) Hiromi Higuruma

Hiromi Higuruma is unique, similar to Takaba. Although most powerful sorcerers in the Culling Game are from the past, Higuruma, a newer sorcerer who developed his abilities during the game, is exceptionally strong. His presence challenges Yuji, forcing both of them to grapple with tough ethical dilemmas.
Higuruma’s unique ability lets him punish those he considers guilty, making him a valuable fighter for the sorcerers trying to defeat the main villain. Fans can expect to see him return in future seasons, and he’ll likely remain a powerful player in the Culling Game.
4) Reggie Star

Unlike most ancient sorcerers in the Culling Game who fought alone, Reggie teamed up with current-era sorcerers to earn points, anticipating a surprise from Kenjaku. This led to a memorable and thrilling battle against Megumi, widely considered a highlight of the season.
Reggie’s unique abilities were both funny and fascinating. It’s a shame he didn’t team up with the other sorcerers, because his intelligence could have been a huge help in defeating Kenjaku. Even when he died, Reggie stayed calm and collected, making him one of the most memorable villains this season.
3) Megumi Fushiguro

Megumi Fushiguro, a key character in the story and deeply invested in the Culling Game, is motivated by his desire to rescue his sister. Recent episodes have explored his growth, demonstrating how he’s becoming more decisive and proactive, even when facing minor threats, instead of waiting for emergencies.
Throughout the series, Megumi consistently shows he’s willing to make tough decisions to earn points. His fight with Reggie really marks a turning point, proving how much he’s grown as a sorcerer. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens with his journey next.
2) Itadori Yuji

Yuji Itadori is the central character of the story, and it makes sense that he’s taken on the hero’s role. This season, he consistently shows how important he is, and the Culling Game really emphasizes how valuable his raw power is to the sorcerers’ success. He proves this by being the first to reach 100 points, defeating Higuruma with his strong will, and firmly establishing himself as a key player.
Yuji isn’t just a strong fighter in the Culling Game; his role is much bigger because he’s the host for Sukuna, a powerful and ancient sorcerer. This makes him incredibly important, and his significance will likely grow even more in the upcoming season of the anime.
1) Yuta Okkotsu

MAPPA consistently delivers high-quality animation for Yuta Okkotsu, and they’ve done it again in recent episodes. The season finale puts Yuta front and center, showing him as a powerful hero who bravely defends people and defeats the dangerous, ancient sorcerers causing trouble. His movements are incredibly smooth and stand out as some of the best animation in the series.
The final battle showcases Yuta Okkotsu defeating three powerful, ancient sorcerers, solidifying his position as a key and incredibly strong character in the series. His involvement significantly raises the stakes of the finale, demonstrating that he was the most important player in the Culling Game arc of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3.
