Linda Hamilton doesn’t feel a connection with fans who admire her character, Sarah Connor from “The Terminator”. For Hamilton, playing Sarah since 1984 meant portraying all the suffering and doubt she experienced. Recently, Hamilton spoke to ComicBook about “Resident Alien” Season 4 which premiered on Syfy and USA Network on June 6th, and she also shared some thoughts about “The Terminator”. She stated that there was nothing to emulate in Sarah Connor’s life, and expressed disappointment that the latest movie, “Terminator: Dark Fate”, didn’t spend more time wrapping up her storyline. Hamilton, along with Arnold Schwarzenegger, have both indicated they won’t be reprising their roles in the franchise, so it seems we’ve seen the last of Hamilton as Sarah Connor.
Hamilton pondered, “It’s interesting to see so many who aspire to be like Sarah Connor. I believe the strong character and physique I portrayed in the second movie played a significant role, but she’s clearly a very troubled individual, constantly grappling with uncertainty. She’s essentially living in hell, and yet people seem drawn to her. This has always intrigued me – why do they want to emulate her when she embodies such distress?

In 2018, upon its release, both Hamilton and Schwarzenegger expressed criticism towards the film “Dark Fate,” with a significant focus on the screenplay. More recently, Hamilton expanded on this critique, providing more details about the potential missed chances for her character to experience an emotional closure.
She mentioned, “The last one contained some truly impactful, perhaps… touching scenes that I felt we could have spent a little more time on. It seemed like those parts were rushed, and I believe Tim felt that the structure wasn’t quite right… I simply wished it had moved slower and given us a few additional glimpses into the human experience for our audience.
Dark Fate was penned by David Goyer, Justin Rhodes, and Billy Ray, with a plot conceived by Goyer, Rhodes, James Cameron, Charles H. Eglee, and Josh Friedman. Tim Miller oversaw its direction. The film boasts a 70
In his own words later on, Cameron admitted that reuniting Hamilton and Schwarzenegger in “Dark Fate” was an error. Instead, he aimed to reboot the entire franchise from scratch as opposed to producing additional sequels. Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger expressed reluctance to rejoin the series because he found the last installments lacked quality writing. Similarly, Hamilton felt that her character had reached its limit within this series.
Supporters have the opportunity to watch Hamilton in “Resident Alien” until its final episode airs on both Syfy and USA Network, which is scheduled for August 8th. Meanwhile, you can stream “Terminator: Dark Fate” on Paramount+ right away.
