KitKat Truck Carrying 12 Metric Tons of Chocolate Stolen, Nestle Says

Talk about a sticky situation.

Nestlé says a truck carrying around 12 tons of KitKat bars – that’s over 26,000 pounds – was stolen while making deliveries in Europe. They haven’t been able to locate the shipment.

KitKat confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) on March 29th that 12 tons of their products were stolen during shipment from their factory in Central Italy to Poland. They are cooperating with police and their delivery partners to look into the theft.

Despite reports online suggesting the theft might cause Easter supply problems, the company stated there’s no risk to consumers and the supply of products remains unaffected.

Nestle, the company that makes KitKat, confirmed the stolen shipment of chocolate bars had left their factory last week. The plan was to distribute them across Europe. While a company representative jokingly complimented the thieves’ good taste, they also mentioned that cargo theft is becoming a growing problem for the whole industry.

Okay, so I’ve been following this for a while, and honestly, it’s terrifying! Apparently, cargo theft is getting SO much worse – it’s hitting everyone, big companies and small! I just read this statement, and they’re basically saying the thieves are getting smarter, using really complex plans. While the investigation continues, people on social media are finding the whole robbery pretty absurd and are joking about it.

People on X (formerly Twitter) expressed shock at recent events, with one user saying they were witnessing headlines they never expected to see, and another mistakenly referring to the situation as a “Kitnapping.”

Many online commenters joked that the event could have come straight out of the TV show The Sopranos. One post even featured a picture of Tony Sirico, who played Paulie Gualtieri, as if he were part of the scene.

“‘Hey Ton’,’” the post read. “‘The thing with the KitKats. It’s done.’”

During an April 2025 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer of “Save Me” shared a truly embarrassing story, and he didn’t hesitate to tell all the details.

“I pooped myself one time,” he admitted. “I did, I’m sorry.”

To be honest, Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) didn’t intend to cause such serious harm.
