Prime Video’s Tomb Raider Halts Filming After Sophie Turner Injury

Prime Video’s Tomb Raider series starring Sophie Turner has hit a setback.

Sophie Turner, known for her role in Game of Thrones, will star as Lara Croft in a new series created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Prime Video revealed the first look at Turner as the character on January 15th and confirmed that filming has begun. Although Tomb Raider has appeared in numerous films, shows, and video games, this is the first time the story will be told as a live-action television series.

Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Sophie Turner sustained a minor injury. Filming has been temporarily halted to give her time to heal, and they expect to restart production soon.

Amazon MGM Studios has stated that the injury suffered by the actress was not serious, and filming has been paused briefly while she recovers. She’s expected to return to the role once she’s feeling better. As there’s no confirmed release date for the series yet, it’s currently unknown if this pause will delay the show’s debut.
