*Warning: This article contains spoilers for Paradise season 2.*
That season of Paradise was a wild ride! Over eight episodes, the show plunged us back into a world of hidden bunkers, government conspiracies, and life after a disaster, all as Xavier (Sterling K. Brown) desperately searched for his wife.
He was completely unprepared for what he would discover, and viewers of the show were equally shocked. In addition to the unexpected and tragic death of Annie (Shailene Woodley), Xavier stepped up to care for her newborn baby, promising to keep her safe.
Dan Fogelman, the creator of the show, has consistently said he envisioned Paradise lasting three seasons, which is why its early renewal before the season two finale is welcome news. Now, fans are wondering what might happen in the third season and when it will air.
Read on for everything we know so far.
Will there be a Paradise season 3?
There will be! Paradise was renewed for another run ahead of the season 2 finale.
Sterling K. Brown revealed the news in a video on the official Paradise Instagram page, referencing a memorable scene from the show that echoed a moment from the movie Love Actually.

It seems likely that the current, third season will be the last for Paradise. The show’s creator, Fogelman, initially planned for only three seasons. While it’s not confirmed, it’s reasonable to expect that the show won’t continue beyond this season.
John Hoberg, an executive producer on the show, revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that the series finale is designed in a way that would make it challenging to continue with a fourth season.
Paradise season 3 release date speculation
Since Hoberg has mentioned they’re already working on season 3, we can anticipate that Paradise will likely continue its regular release pattern. The show has premiered a new season each year so far, with season 1 debuting in 2025 and season 2 in 2026.
Season 3 is currently projected to arrive in 2027, but we’ll need official announcements to know the exact release date.
Who could return in Paradise season 3 cast?

A season of Paradise isn’t complete without Sterling K. Brown as Xavier, so he’s likely to return. The show, as seen in season two, often revisits characters through flashbacks, meaning we might also see James Marsden as President Cal and Jon Beavers as Billy again.
Shailene Woodley’s character, Annie, tragically died after giving birth in season two, so she won’t be appearing in future episodes. Meanwhile, Thomas Doherty, who plays Link, remained an enigmatic figure throughout the second season and was clearly involved in a lot of secrets, so it’s highly probable he’ll be back for more.
- Sterling K Brown as Agent Xavier Collins
- Julianne Nicholson as Samantha Redmond
- James Marsden as President Cal Bradford
- Sarah Shahi as Dr Gabriela Torabi
- Krys Marshall as Agent Robinson
- Jon Beavers as Billy
- Nicole Brydon Bloom as Jane Driscoll
- Charlie Evans as Jeremy
- Aliyah Mastin as Presley
- Percy Daggs IV as James
- Thomas Doherty as Link
