Michelle Tsiakkas has expressed her disappointment after being removed from the team of professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing.
In recent weeks, the BBC has announced that several professional dancers, including Karen Hauer, Luba Mushtuk, and Nadiya Bychkova, are leaving. They haven’t yet said whether Anton Du Beke will be back.
Tsiakkas told The Sun that she found out about her departure from the show during a half-hour video call with the executive producer, and she cried when she heard the news.
She described feeling devastated, like everything she’d worked for had crumbled. “I poured my heart and soul into that show for four years – it was my entire life,” she said.
It came as a complete shock. It was incredibly difficult, and I was devastated. I experienced a whirlwind of feelings. I dedicated so much of my life to Strictly.
TopMob has reached out to the BBC for comment.

Tsiakkas said she wasn’t told why she was removed from the team, and that lack of explanation made the decision especially difficult to accept.
She explained that she was one of the youngest female dancers in the show. She said she was let go because the producers decided to go with new performers to give the cast a fresh look.
The dancer from Cyprus is the fourth professional to leave the show, and there are rumors that Gorka Márquez may also be leaving.
Reports suggested that the producers of Strictly Come Dancing were looking for a revamp. A source told The Sun that dancers were discussing their contracts, and bosses hoped to introduce new professionals to the show after a period of difficulties, aiming for a fresh start and a new chapter.
The BBC hasn’t officially responded to the news of Tsiakkas leaving, but we’ve heard they’ll be sharing details about Strictly Come Dancing 2026 soon.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
