Konami is increasing the starting salaries for new employees in Japan. Recent college graduates will now earn ¥310,000, a 29% raise from the previous ¥240,000 offered in February 2023. Konami says this change will help them attract top talent.
The company announced it will be able to attract and retain top talent by offering competitive salaries and fostering a positive work environment where employees feel valued. As part of this, all employees will receive a ¥5,000 monthly raise – a benefit the company is repeating for the first time in a year.
Founded in 1969, Konami Group has always focused on creating exciting and innovative entertainment for people around the world. We believe our employees are the key to our success, and we’re committed to fostering a diverse and talented workforce. That’s why we’re continuing to invest in our team, including a recent salary increase, to boost morale and help us create even better games and experiences.
Over the next five to ten years, Konami Group plans to grow steadily by attracting and developing skilled employees, and by fostering a positive and rewarding workplace.
The recent rise in salaries at Konami likely reflects the company’s comeback in the gaming world, which many have been anticipating for a long time. Although Konami continued to release its soccer game series, now called eFootball, they had mostly stopped focusing on their most popular franchises like Metal Gear and Silent Hill until recently.
Many fans were happy to see Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, but Konami’s biggest release in years was the 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2 by Bloober Team. They plan to follow that up with Silent Hill f in 2025, and Bloober Team is also working on a remake of the very first Silent Hill game.
Recently, Konami released a remake of the popular PlayStation 2 game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, called Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. As of earlier this month, it had sold over 2 million copies. It’s unclear if this remake signals Konami’s future plans for the Metal Gear series, but they are preparing to release Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2. This new collection will include Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which had previously only been available on PlayStation 3, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
You can find the full PC system requirements for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 on the game’s official page.
