MobLand Season 2 Gets Exciting & “Insane” Paramount+ Return Update From Star

After a successful first season on Paramount+ in 2025, the crime drama MobLand is returning for a second season. Created by Ronan Bennett and featuring direction from Guy Ritchie for the first two episodes, the show quickly became popular, attracting 2.2 million viewers – the biggest debut for any Paramount+ series. Starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren, MobLand delivered a thrilling mix of gangster action, suspense, and unexpected turns, making a second season highly anticipated.

Not much has been revealed about MobLand Season 2, but production is going well. Filming began late last year and is now nearing completion, at least for Emmett J. Scanlan. Scanlan, who plays Paul O’Donnell – a prominent member of the Harrigan family’s crew – announced on Instagram that he has finished filming his scenes for the second season.

I just saw Scanlan’s post saying he’s finished filming his parts, which is great news! It probably means we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the bigger stars – Hardy, Brosnan, and Mirren – to wrap up, but it’s a really good sign. I’m still hoping for a return sometime in 2026, though there’s no official date yet. Remember how close they were to the release of Season 1 when they finished production? This time around, it looks like they’re getting ahead of the game, which should give them more time to polish everything up.

What To Expect From MobLand Season 2

Season 1 of MobLand ended with a lot of exciting twists, setting up plenty of storylines for Season 2. To quickly recap: Conrad and Maeve Harrigan were sent to prison, where Conrad was surprisingly treated like a hero. There was also a shocking accident where Harry de Souza was stabbed by his wife, Jan, and the reveal that Eddie Harrigan is actually Conrad’s son, not Kevin’s. Plus, they finally took out their rival, Richie Stevenson, and Harry rejected a job offer from Kat McAllister, which she didn’t appreciate.

It’s no surprise Harry made it through the season finale, since the actor is returning for Season 2. However, the stabbing might not be his biggest problem. He’ll still be dealing with issues in his marriage with Jan, but the real threat comes from Kat. She proved herself to be a major player in the criminal underworld of MobLand, with more influence than the Harrigans, and now that he’s rejected her, she’s likely to seek revenge.

Beyond the storyline with Kat, expect plenty more drama within the Harrigan family, particularly as a new struggle for control emerges. While Kevin is positioned to lead the company, Conrad and Maeve won’t likely step aside quietly, even from prison. He’ll also face new competitors, giving Harry a lot to handle. According to Scanlan, Season 2 is much bigger and bolder than the first, describing it as “insanely ambitious and fast-paced.” That sounds incredibly exciting, so fans are hoping it arrives soon.

MobLand Season 1 is available to stream on Paramount+.
