Nintendo has frequently struggled with leaks, and Kit Ellis, a former senior public relations manager for Nintendo of America, is now speaking out about the recent wave of information revealed regarding their plans for 2026 and the years following.
A well-known source of gaming leaks, NateTheHate, recently shared a surprising list of games Nintendo is reportedly planning for the Switch 2 this year. The lineup includes a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and a brand-new 3D Mario platformer, which is expected to be released in 2027.
Ellis believes Nintendo is upset about the recent leak. This is understandable, as Nintendo may have been preparing a marketing campaign for the games NateTheHate revealed.
Nintendo is extremely upset about this situation. They’re really struggling with leaks at the moment and haven’t been able to find a solution.
I’ve been following the Switch 2 rumors for a while now, and it sounds like Nate the Rat – I mean, Ellis – might be talking about those leaks again. He commented on them when they first started popping up, but what’s really got me thinking is his latest point: he’s suggesting Nintendo is actually trying to fix whatever’s going on behind the scenes. It’s definitely interesting to hear!
Honestly, this whole leak situation with Nintendo feels totally new to me. They’ve had leaks before, and they usually handle them, but this time it’s different – I’m really not sure what’s going to happen. I think Nintendo is going to have to make stopping leaks a huge focus from now on, it’s that serious.
We should be cautious until Nintendo confirms anything officially, but the recent leak could be a major sign of what’s to come. We’ll likely learn more in the next few months, especially with rumors pointing to a Nintendo Direct presentation in June.
