Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump announced three new manga series will launch in April, giving fans a first look at what’s coming this spring. As the magazine starts a new quarter, it’s making room for these new titles, which means three current series will be concluding. Shonen Jump regularly introduces new manga hoping to connect with readers.
Shueisha has given fans a sneak peek at three new series launching in April. These stories come from some well-known creators who have worked with Shonen Jump before. Let’s take a look at what’s coming and also discuss which current series might be ending soon. Read on for the details!
3). Roku no Okashina

Atsushi Nakamura, the creator of the previously published series Agravity Boys, is back in Shonen Jump with a new manga called Roku no Okashina (currently its Japanese title). Agravity Boys ended after 50 chapters, and this new series promises a large cast of characters. Roku no Okashina began in the April 6th issue of the magazine, taking the place of Gonron Egg, which was cancelled last week. However, Gonron Egg won’t be the only series ending soon – two more will conclude in the following two weeks.
2). Natsu no Mushikago

“Natsu no Mushikago” is a brand new series by Satosho Masayoshi, marking their first solo creation after previously assisting other artists. The series will debut in Shonen Jump on April 13th and appears to be about basketball. With a shortage of sports-themed stories currently running in the magazine, it’s likely to be a popular addition – particularly if it includes some kind of unique power system, as hinted at in early previews. It’s still unclear which existing series this new one will replace.
Two series, Hero Girl and Demon Lord Call It Quits (at 19 chapters) and The Mage Next Door (at chapter 20), are at risk of being cancelled. If Hero Girl and Demon Lord Call It Quits is cancelled within the next week, it would follow the pattern of other series that were cancelled around chapter 20. The Mage Next Door seems particularly close to cancellation as well. Both series are currently at important turning points in their stories, and may be cancelled to make room for new content.
1). 2-Nen B-Gumi Yusha Destroyers

I’m really looking forward to the upcoming release of “2-Nen B-Gumi Yusha Destroyers.” It’s hitting Shonen Jump on April 20th, and it’s exciting to see Hideaki Sorachi, the creator of Gintama, back with a new project after seven years! From what I can tell, it seems to be set in a school, possibly with a lot of action or funny situations. It looks like it’s going to be a big deal in the magazine. There’s also some talk about other series potentially ending or being cancelled soon, so things are definitely shifting around.
Several manga series are nearing their conclusions, including Sakamoto Days. However, Blue Box by Koji Miura is likely to finish up the soonest. With Taiki entering his final high school matches, the story has a clear endpoint in sight. Recent chapters have been particularly emotional, suggesting the series may be wrapping up quickly, so fans should be prepared for a potential finale in the near future.
