Whitney Leavitt is waltzing to the beat of her fans’ proposed idea.
A star of The Secret Life of Mormon Wives playfully responded to gossip that she and her husband, Conner Leavitt, might get their own show on Hulu.
In a TikTok video posted on March 31st, 32-year-old Whitney playfully removed her coat while dancing to The Village People’s “In the Navy.” Her husband, Conner, joined in the fun, dancing and clapping along. Whitney captioned the video, “How it feels knowing you all want a spin-off show about the Leavitts!”
Whitney and her husband, who have three children – Sedona, 6, Liam, 4, and Billy, 17 months – are open to growing the scope of their reality show. However, their plans might surprise viewers, as Whitney recently hinted she’s considering leaving Secret Life of Mormon Wives to focus on documenting her passion for dancing.
She told The Hollywood Reporter on March 16th that she’s still discovering her path, and they’re all working it out as they go. She feels this current direction is where things are headed. While grateful for the opportunities she’s had, she’s ready to pursue other goals and passions she’s held for a long time, even before the show began.
Whitney has been thriving on both coasts. In September, she competed on season 34 of Dancing with the Stars, where Robert Irwin and Witney Carson took home the prize. Then, in early February, she made her Broadway debut playing Roxie Hart in Chicago.
And while she’s excited to pursue her artistic dreams, she never imagined that Broadway.
She always loved Broadway, but didn’t think she had the right singing voice for it. She felt confident in her acting and dancing abilities, but knew a strong voice was essential. When the chance to audition came during her time on Dancing With the Stars, she realized she needed to start taking voice lessons immediately.
As someone who follows these stories closely, I’m seeing a lot of attention on the drama surrounding Taylor Frankie Paul from Secret Life of Mormon Wives. After a video surfaced earlier this month of an incident with her ex, Dakota Mortensen, production on season five of the show has been put on hold. It’s also meant the cancellation of her planned appearance on The Bachelorette. While I’m focused on my own path, it’s hard to ignore what’s happening with her right now.
With the show Secret Lives of Mormon Wives currently on hold, Whitney spoke about the recent controversy.
She told Interview magazine on March 25th that she’s still trying to sort through her feelings about the situation, but protecting people – especially children – is her top priority. She emphasized that this is non-negotiable and that such issues shouldn’t be ignored or dismissed, adding that it’s still a very sensitive topic for her and she didn’t want to discuss it further.
